i have a job interview on thursday and im confident i'll get the job but i cant stop working at my previous place till october 21 will this discourage the new employer from hiring me, the position is for xmas sales person so....what could happen

well it depends on how they want to hire you.. I've always stated up front that if hired I have to wait two weeks in order for someone to fill my position... It is common business practice to give two weeks notice...

If they really want you they will wait the two weeks, a lot of people have to give two weeks notice of leaving a job for another. I also used sick time at one job while I was working at the new job, it is up to how much they want you.

If they are interested in hiring you, give them a date when you can start. Tell them you like to give your employer two weeks notice.

no. they should respect the fact that you have to work your notice and you havent just left them in the lurch, just make sure you tell them at the interview. good luck!

shouldnt do if youve impressed your new employer enough to set you on he'll wait
