Heard through the grapevine that his health is ? [my aunt reported that at a regional conference a couple weeks ago, he asked the saints there to pray for his health]. Admittedly, he's 96 or 97... but he didn't speak at the General Women's Conference as has been his custom. Any one have any news?

I have heard nothing bad about his health. I try not to speculate about these things. He is 97, he is not getting any younger. Maybe he did not speak at womens conference because he felt inspired to have President Monson speak.
I have always been a member of the church and I don't remember a time when we weren't asked to pray for the health of the prophet and other general authorities.
Really no need to speculate, when his mission is through, the Lord will call him home, until then I try not to worry about it.

He was at Womens Conference, they showed him seated on the stand- He just did not speak.

We need to be prepared to let him go at anytime. He's getting to the point and his work is almost complete. I hope the Heavenly Father calls him home in the dignified manner that he deserves.
The Apostolic Succession will place Thomas S Monson in the position of President and Prophet.

Neither the SLTrib nor the Deseret News have any such story. The last word on his health was that he is amazingly healthy... IHS Jim

Nope, I haven' t heard anything, though I was surprised to hear that he didn't speak at the women's conference the other night...

It's actually pretty common for him to ask for people to pray for his health. He is pretty old. He asked us to at last Gen Conf too. He also asked us to stop trying to predict his death. Usually only one member of the first presidency speaks at RS broadcast, so that was normal too. THe only unusual thing was that he wasn't there. So pray for him.

He is the Energizer Bunny. I expect that he does need more time between events. Having recently lost President Faust, this must have increased his work load.

He's 97 and I noticed that...He was there, but he didn't speak...
Others have told me he often jokes about how old he is...but that was like :O to me...

I don't know. I try not to put stock in mormon rumors. We can all just see for our own eyes this weekend.
