Depends on the culture, and depends on what the year refers to.
Presumably, you were born in October. On the fifth day of that month.
That means you are going to be 45 soon.
If you asked an American, they might assume you were born in May. On the tenth day of that month, so you would already be 45. And a half!
If it was in Japan, they start years from the time of the reign of the New Emperor. It is now year 17, or 18 in Japan, so they'd assume you were born in the previous Emperor's era ... can't remember how old he was when he died, but added on the 17 or 18 of this era, you'd be middle-aged, but not really old.
And then you get some cultures that count from conception - means you are already almost 1 when born!
Other cultures count the turning point as a time line, and yet others start the counting on the day of birth!
So don't worry about it!
You're as old as you feel!

Assuming you are starting the '62' with '19', you are 44 if you are writing the date as in the UK and 45 if you are being back to front American. But I take it this is some sort of trick question?

Well firstly you should know how old you are. But secondly it depends what two numbers come before the 62? Is it May 10 1962? May 10 1862? Is it May 10 2062? Who knows?
