In the words of the wise old sage:
"No excuse would have been better!"
When you get caught doing the wrong thing, the least you can do is step up and take responsibility. This is all about trust. How can knowing that a bottle can take you over and make you do something that you normally wouldn't do cause her to trust you, even a little. If I were her, I would take that to mean that you are going to sleep with somebody every time somebody puts Vanilla in the cookies.
The only choice you got is to take responsibility for your actions, learn to think with your head and not with any area that the blood rushes to when you get excited, and start the long painful process back to forgiveness, redemption, and eventually trust. This could be the most important lesson you ever learn, if you decide to go through with it. Good Journey. Remember that it starts by admitting that she is worth it!

As many people have already stated, there really is no "better excuse."
If you cheated, there is obviously something about your relationship that wasn't fulfilling you. For future reference, when that occurs, it is best to discuss it with your significant other and decide together whether or not you can work things out in a manner that will satisfy both of your needs. If not, end the relationship BEFORE you move on.
As it stands now, it is up to you to decide if you want this relationship to work and then open a dialog with your girlfriend to decide how to proceed. She may not be able to forgive you, and that is her right, but if you still want to be with her, it is up to you to be honest, open, and not make excuses. Then, it's up to her to decide whether she wants to continue to the relationship or not. Excuses are NOT the answer.

An excuse??? A good excuse is that you're a sad excuse for an adult male when you can't keep your pecker in your pants.
I'll give you excuse ...

NONE. You should not have done it in the first place. Would you like it if she cheated on you?

hate to say it but serves you right. if u aint been dumped then u got lucky. however, a better excuse would be that your drink got spiked and you had no clue what you were doing.
