It is only when he has been in his crate and I let him out to go outside. I have to pick him up to bring him down the stairs, because he is still too little to walk down them and he tinkles little drops everywhere. He is a shepherd and terrier mix. How can I stop this...Please!

You could be picking him up in such a way where you are expressing his bladder, he could just be a submissive urinator (new word, hehe), or you are waiting too long between "bathroom breaks".

Give him some time to adjust and feel comfortable. See how he does. I would not become worried at this time. However, if would would like to rule out any medical problems you could bring a tablespoon sample of his urine to your vet for them to run an urine analysis.

Well I hate to tell you that I have a Yorkie and she does the same thing. They say that she may outgrow it, but she was a year in May and she still does it when people come up to her or when she is nervous. It is called and excited bladder. Hopefully she will out grow this. I have another Yorkie and she is three years and she did outgrow it. Good Luck!!! You will get use to what makes her excited and just tell nobody to pet her until she calms down.

this is caused by a couple of things:
1. hes not potty trained and doesnt have very good control over his baul movements. he needs to be trained.
2. hes been drinking alot.
3. dont leave him in his cage to long. try letting him out more.
4. mainleyy hes a young pup and young animals ten to "tinkle" when you pick them up because they're scared. this will go away over time.

Buy WeeWee pads at the pet store, that may help. While you are the pet store, ask the store Manager for advice on the problem you're having. Pet Co or PetSmart are good Pet Stores.

limit water in take. many owners "over water" their dogs.
also watch where you pick your dog up at. you might be pushing on something.
move the kennel closer to the door (if possible) until the dog learns.
thnks for saving a life!
good luck!

I would probably put a pee pad or a towel underneath him to take him outside and then remove it when he is outside and you put him down.....at least until he can go down the steps himself.
