Y!A member The Reverend Soleil wrote in answer to another question:
"Statistically, about 44% of Americans are absolutely or "very" confident that Jesus will return and the world will end within the next 50 years -- not exactly conducive to building a sustainable system of economics or government, when almost half the population is planning on (or even looking FORWARD to) Armageddon..."
As is generally known by Americans, George W. Bush is a Christian. Any fool knows that Earth's supply of oil is not limitless and could be used up in a very relatively short amount of time. Realizing this, you would think that a President would make research and implementation of alternative energy sources a major priority, but this is not the case with Bush. He insists on maintaining the war in the Middle East and many believe that it is now for the sake of ensuring our oil supply.
All of this may seem to suggest that George W. Bush's ultimate intent may be to bring about Armageddon. Any thoughts?

"If there was some sort of Christian conspiricy to prompt God into action, wouldn't we be campaigning FOR the rebuilding?"
I didn't say it was a Christian conspiracy. I said that maybe George W. Bush "thinks" that he is bringing about Armageddon. And just because he "thinks" that he is, doesn't mean he's going to be able to.

I absolutely do not believe that nearly half of Americans are confident that jesus will return in 50 years. Where ever you got that stat, I'm sure it's biased on inaccurate in some way.
On the other hand, I am disturbed that our dictator does not seem willing to make plans for our future, which could certainly mean that the United States will crumble within 50 years.

Any serious Christian student of the Bible will tell you, as I'm about to, that humans cannot bring on the Second Coming of Christ. Anyone who would suggest otherwise is confusing Christians with those crazy Muslim "Twelvers."
In fact, I would argue the opposite: most Evangelical Christians are completely against the rebuilding of the Third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, because the Bible tells us the Antichrist will take it over. If there was some sort of Christian conspiracy to prompt God into action, wouldn't we be campaigning FOR the rebuilding?
EDIT: I didn't say YOU said it; however, Rev. Soleil DID say it: "almost half the population is planning on (or even looking FORWARD to) Armageddon." He implies that there is a Christian conspiricy, which is laughable. Really, Rev. Soleil writes a lot of ridiculous things, just to rile us.

The ways of God are supposed to be past understanding.
Yet the Word says there is nothing we will not find out about before Christ returns. Ezekiel 38:5 says there will be an alliance between the Medes and Persians. And they will ally with Libya and Ethiopia. Iran used to be called Persia.
God hardened Pharoahs heart so Gods will could be done. Maybe he hardened Bushs so we went to Iraq. There is such a thing as Karma. That people have to pay for what they do.
The killing of the Egyptians firstborn in the Exodus may have been Karmic restitution for all the children lost by the slavery of the Hebrews. And maybe certain things must take place to make things right between nations before Jesus can come. Sort of cleaning the slate so we don't have as much to answer for.

Thankfully a majority of Christians work towards the safety and happiness of the world.
I have to admit, though, that I have met some individuals that seemed almost eager for Armageddon. It is sad.

GWB is a clumsy yet he's no longer delusional. The puppet that the Iran's clerics have as a results of fact the President of the rustic is the single with grandeur delusions to the component to believing that they are in a position to stress the return of the Mahdi, or Messiah, who is going to be certain the government of the righteous...(meaning Iran and his puppeteers have not got a probability..............LOL)

No, he can't as the Bible says (Jeremiah 10:23) 23 I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not
belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step. . .
The war of armageddon is a war between MAN & GOD, not man & man. Jesus showed that relatively few (even from christendom) would make it into the new world.
(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness. GEORGE BUSH IS ONE OF THESE
I believe that I'm in a saved condition, but as Jesus said
(Matthew 24:13) 13 But he that has endured TO THE END IS THE one that will be saved.
your not saved till you cross the finish line, thats not my opinion thats quoting the scripture, I have more if you want
do you really know the defination of a true christian? lets let the Bible tell us. (1 Peter 2:21) 21 In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely.
(1 Corinthians 11:1) . . .Become imitators of me, even as I am of Christ.
these principals show who is really a christian
(Galatians 5:19-24) 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, 20 idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, 21 envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires.
so if you don't cleanse yourself from these traits you'll be like those whom Jesus said he wouldn't approve of.
(James 1:27) . . .The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.
