Road tax is a general term used for a fee charged for road useage. It can be a portion of the auto registration, state and federal gas taxes & a part of the many fees the trucks have to pay.

some states charge a road tax. i live in NC and they have one. I had to pay almost $200 when I moved here to register my auto to drive on their roads. I about died as I come from a state that does not have any road tax. it is usually a one time payment
