What a beautiful memory you've brought back to me, Jason! My son and I were privileged to attend the International Convention in Vancouver a few years back; what a beautiful sight! We walked around the agrodome at lunch, and just marvelled at the immense crowd of brothers and sisters there; some of the delegates attending were from Japan, and looked so beautiful in their kimonos, having chosen to represent that aspect of their culture while in attendance.
I remember the thrill of joy when reviewing the prophecy about "Trees of Healing"; tears streamed down my face as the brothers emphasized, especially for those suffering from the effects of depression and other mental distresses, that the trees of healing would restore physical, spiritual, and emotional illnesses, what an expression of Jehovah's love for us!!!
Jason, I hope one day I am privileged again to stand in such a loving, peaceful, and united group of my brothers and let my voice ring out with theirs in praise of the only True God, Jehovah, and the one whom he sent forth, Christ Jesus. Thanks to that experience I can say, it is awesome that a worldly organization would take notice of our brotherhood in such a respectful way, but not suprising to me!!!

We attended already in the end of May. The city that we went to is usually very hot but this year it was rather cool so it seemed strange in a way. We stayed at a very nice hotel that was right next to the convention center. Each day on break we would go back for a while and eat or visit with friends, so that was a nice touch. Recently my brother-in-law even remarked that his 3-1/2 yr old son loved the dramas and he was surprised how fixed he was on them, lol They attend an area that is really beautiful at a harbor setting with the pond and people picnic on lunch break. I would love to go again at least on Sunday but don't know if we can work it out. BUT, I am so happy that you will be going and you will love the dramas and new releases. Let us know what happens! The best to you and your hubby. The Zeb!;)

Yes. Naturally, a disgruntled ex-witness and other misinformed people would have nothing good to say about it. No surprise there.
I attended the last International District Convention in Long Beach 4 or 5 years ago. Not only did I enjoy the program, but I was thrilled to meet fellow Witnesses from all over the world. I even met up with a couple from Jamaica that my spouse and I met the first time we went to that island.
We are happy that the City of Long Beach was impressed. We are grateful that the City of Long Beach gave us a place to meet.
We are truly an international brotherhood.

I do agree with you, many people after actually getting to know we witnesses, are amazed by our peacefulness, many people of many different cultures and religions have chosen to study the Bible [ actually study it, not bits and pieces] and then decided to turn around their behavior, so that they are no longer doing the things they used to do, some feel that it would be too hard, but, actually if we depend on Jehovah, he will sustain us. Many city agencies, law-enforcement agencies, and those who deal with allowing organizations to use their facilities, are pleased and happy with the way the
Witness' clean the place up, and how they leave it clean when they leave, there is no smoking, drinking, or swearing, all things take place orderly, we truly are amazing

No, I haven't had the honor yet, in my life.
Yes, it is.
I believe the City of West Palm beach, Fl., USA
did something along the same line,
(unsure, I have a vague recollection of 'something')
after the Christian Convention Center of Jehovah's Witnesses
was renovated, inside & out.
My 1st 3 day assembly was there, shortly after the purchase.
It was in a raggedy condition.
And not enough facilities for women.
Later, when I returned; it is Spectacular!
Beautiful to behold.
And more than adequate facilities for the women.

I have never had the opportunity, though I would love to attend an International District Convention one day.
It's not surprising that the city was impressed, we have seen how amazing Jehovah's earthly organization is.

No I haven't had the honor yet.
My aunts and uncles have and they say it is one of the most awe inspiring experiences you can experience.
I pray for the day that I may attend one.
A true blessing from Jehovah to experience that.
