Simply because there is no such thing as evolution, (at leased not in this case) but there is a thing called creation. Scientist just made up the evolution theory so they'll have something to do.

Evolution can be divided into two parts, macro and micro. Micro evolution is a fact, where as macro evolution remains a theory due to debates on the exact steps of the evolutionary process. EVOLUTION DID HAPPEN we simply can’t trace the exact evolutionary steps of the of the 3 trillion plus species on earth. Considering there is no way that we can even prove if we have located all the species on earth, this may always remain a theory. We can prove though, beyond a doubt, that humans have evolved. We can trace it back conclusively 3.6 million years. 97% of all scientists accept evolution (so does the Catholic Church). Christians have spread lies about this excessively, they especially like to say evolution preaches that Humans evolved from monkeys. Evolution does not state that humans evolved from monkeys, that idea is completely absurd. Science states that monkeys and humans evolved from a shared forefather and are hence relatives, (all primates are) but we are in no way direct descendants of them.

The most widely accepted scientific theory is that humans, monkeys and apes evolved from the same common ancestor. But this is just a theory which hasn't been proven due to an evolutionary gap (the missing link) which hasn't been discovered.

Monkeys (why isn't it spelled monkies?), chimps and apes are other off shoots of the same evolution. Us humans as well as other primates are ghosts of what we formerly were.
Maybe it has something to do with the same reason there exists male leaf bugs; Female leaf bugs reproduce asexually, male leaf bugs are sterile and useless to their breeding process and therefore contribute nothing? Actually they play a greater role, as long as there is genetic diversity there is less chance for genetic mutation.
Take a look at dog kids, kids found living with animals. They act like animals and don't live near civilized areas. Maybe there are still primates because they stayed in the jungles and forests and didnt make the descent to follow their cousins into a less monkey-like society.

Because humans were a separate species of primates that evolved. The modern day monkeys and apes were not the same in prehistoric times either. Their species just did not evolve as much.

The whole evolution thing is still being worked out.
It's still a theory, and no one has all of the answers.
Just look at each press release from scientists---they always revise what they 'knew' yesterday into what they 'know' today.
The carbon dating thing is a joke. Every couple of years they revise the age of some artifact because they have a different understanding of how to do the test. And yet each time they make it seem like they've finally gotten to the final answer.
I'm not trying to knock science (I work at a national laboratory), but it's a bit sloppy how scientists sometimes report things and it gives the impression that their theories are actually proven facts.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys, they evolved from something that existed a long time ago which gave rise to both modern humans and modern monkeys.

Humans did not evolve from todays monkeys and apes, its just that ape and man have a common ancestor not to far up the family tree, however if you go back far enough all forms of life have a common ancestor.

Because it hasnt been that long since we evolved from monkeys/apes. Maybe in a few hundred thousand years they will be gone.

They did not evole from monkey's/apes - all three evolved from the same animal which is why we share many of the same genes.
Every time this question is asked baby Jesus cries.
