Does anybody think Maddie's parents should have predicted something like this would happen to Maddie???

I think they just went out for dinner thinking she would be fine. I am sure they couldn't consider that someone would actually run away with her from there. They said they didn't stay out for long. What could they possibly think? That someone is going to break in, take Maddie and leave with her? Absolutly not! Nobody is perfect and they suffer a lot. People make mistakes every day and it usually takes just a minute for something bad to happen. And we can't predict that.

I agree that they could not predict that she would have been kidnapped.

But maybe they should have predicited that something less terrible could happen. That is why there is a law in this country against leaving children alone.

I do agree with you on some level but they really should have not left a 3 year old and 1 year old twins alone in a room whilst they went out.

It not just because of the danger of them being taken, what if a fire happened in the room etc or that Maddie woke up and cut herself or burnt herself on something as I guessing not all hotel/apartment rooms are all safe for children.

I also think a family holiday is just that ... a time to spend with the family. Why take the children with you if you just going to leave them? ...

Why didn't they use the creche that was available for them or even have Room Service delivered to the room?

I know they probably feel guilty leaving her and a lot has been said that is just pure speculation but they can't stop others blaming them as after all if they had stayed with Maddie none of this would have happened and Maddie would be still with them.

I do pray she gets found safe and well, although the likelihood of this isn't looking good the longer she is missing.

Exactly, the McCanns were in a friendly safe resort on a family holiday, they were enjoying themselves and the last thing on their mind when they went out that night was that somone would abduct maddie or any of their children. Yes, they made a mistake but they have to live with that,-knowing if they had stayed at home maddie would probably still be here, People are being too harsh on them at the moment. Even, if they were at home, maddie still could have been taken. they made an innocent mistake, they could not have predicted that something terrible like this would happen,.

sory to sound so harsh...
1. they are both doctors, highly intelligent people with HIGH incomes
2. they had three children, yes they left Maddie alone at three but they also left TWO other children at one year old.
3. they are on high incomes - they could have afforded to pay for a childminder or a chreche facility

at the end of the day, if you decide to have children you should start acting like a family - going for family meals or acting responsibly and ensuring childrens safety.

YES........ they could not have predicted that she would have been taken, but what exactly were they thinking? they left three children alone in a hotel room, with no-one but themselves knowing they were there!

I sincerley hope that Maddie is found at least well, and hopefully safe.

but as for her parents, i do hope they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law for child neglect. popping next door for a bit of suger, or standing outside your house and chatting to a neighbour is one thing, leaving them alone while you are 400 yards away is something else entirely.

I absolutely feel for the mc canns, and it is appauling that you cannot take your eyes off your children for 2 minutes. But in this day and age the mc canns should of thought of this.
I am a single parent with three children and i have never once left my children alone not even for a minute when they were small, its not just the danger of kidnapping, but what if any of those kids woke up alone in that apartment? absolutely anything can happen, accidents, fear, panic etc.
I really do hope they find Maddie, as it must be hell going through this. Im sure they have already beaten themselves up a thousand times for leaving them alone that night, and i hope other parents have learned a valuable lesson from it xxx

Although, I do feel sorry for the parents, I can't help but feel that they did a very stupid thing by leaving that child alone. As you said, anything can happen, and it only takes a minute.

That poor child, I can only pray that she is not suffering. Or if she is dead that the little thing didn't have to suffer.

My worst fear is that she is in some kind of white slavery deal. That would truly be the horror of a lifetime.

Like what some people has said, the town they were in is not far from Morocco. So, there are a lot of Moroccans around. They could have abducted her and sold her to a criminal lord.

I really feel sorry for her parents. What was supposed to have been a wonderful vacation had become a nightmare.

that's a huge secret... desire they do be in a position of hint her down. no be counted what surpassed off although i think of the mum and dad would desire to be charged for leaving the toddlers unaided and achievable have their different toddlers faraway from them. Leaving them on my own at considered one of these youthful age in a unprecedented united states of america is basically stupid. and that they look an intellegent couple, so that is style of suspect. in the event that they're harmless what a terrible karmic lesson directly to no longer leave your toddlers unaided. my mum left me when i was little and i woke up i couldnt stop crying lucky enough she was only at the neighbours.

As you have pointed out, 'it usually takes just a minute for something bad to happen.' The McCann's aren't stupid and should've thought of that beforehand..
