I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the psychology of it. Thoughts? Especially from women who have such a tattoo --- why?
Note: "Because I like it" "Because I think it's cute" etc are lame answers. It's obvious that the person "likes" it -- the question is WHY they like/want it (there are causes behind our likes and dislikes).
Here's an example:

OK, lots of opinions....great!
Leslie, I think you are the only one here that mentioned having (or at least wanting to have) one. I think your thought counts more. SO what are the reasons? You say "I want a bunny tattoo for my own reasons. Every woman has her own reasons, just like a man would so leave it alone."
So WHAT are these reasons? That is what I am curious about. (What does a man having a playboy bunny tattoo have to do with this?? Sure, I'd be interested to know his reasons, too.)
Leslie, you do later say “I want one because I'm confident in myself and I don't have to prove to anyone else that I like who I am.” Can you elaborate? Why does Playboy's logo cause you to confident?
This is a legitimate question, not a judgement. To me, critical thinking is a value that trumps ignoring critique so as to avoid being "judgemental." Besides, people with tattoos usually have the sand to stand by their choices without needing protection from critique.

I want a bunny tattoo for my own reasons. Every woman has her own reasons, just like a man would so leave it alone. You ask a lot of questions that simply classify tattoos, knock it off ... No one has to explain why to anyone else if you don't want to so understand that it's their body and not your so don't worry about them!
-How do any of you know what it represents to them? It's not saying easy, slutty, trash. Those are idiotic judgments that you have no right to make. It could mean something deep down personal and your justification within yourself calling her slutty or lesbian or playmate wanna be (to fat and insecure girls get them more) degrades it and her. Show respect and let her live her life. I want one because I'm confident in myself and I don't have to prove to anyone else that I like who I am. Mine will also have the straight edge x's in the bow because I don't drink, being confident and not having to drink to have a good time. Both sound like pretty solid personal reasons to me. Seriously, stop judging people and leave them be.

The ever famous social icon Playboy bunny logo appeals to just about everyone, with few who oppose the magazine's existence.
You'd be surprised to know many of the girls in anyone's high school senior class, held dear this secret to pose for Playboy!! Why is simple, hence a strong reason why the tattoo is popular w/ them:
Playboy "magic" can make even the most homely girl into a superstar dazzling beauty. Playboy pictorial sets are run very much like a film stage--scores of people, all doing a specific job.....to make this one lovely lady a Playboy bunny.....and THAT kind of attention is something ANY girl would want to find themselves in the middle of.

honestly I just got one (I'm 18). Reasons:
1. Playboy is a classic iconic symbol that is supposed to portray the classic femininity and beauty of all women. Since I am now 18, I am a woman and I like what playboy has always tried to market.
2. It's again sexy, classic, feminine.
3. It was my first real decision as an adult, that no one else made for me. So many people told me not to, and in doing so I made my own decision.
4. My best friend and I grew up going to each other's houses and watching the playboy reality show "the girls next door" it was our favorite reality show and some really good memories.
all valid reasons to me

I don't have any tattoos, but to answer your question, it's because Playboy had done an excellent job of marketing their image.
It's all about the marketing. It's sad that some women have bought into it.
It's the equivalent of a guy getting a Nike tattoo because they want to be Michael Jordan or other Nike spokesperson.

Personally, I wouldn't get that but I think for most girls, they associate the playboy logo with "sexY" or something of that nature. Or maybe deep down, they wish they were a playboy bunny. Who knows? It's their body, let them worry about it.

Because they have zero imagination yet want to appear sexy. Its a toss up: Some also want the attention because they think if they have it, then people might think they've posed for Playboy. Others aspire to pose for Playboy and so they make their lower backs or back of the shoulder a walking "hire me" sign. You can often, but not always, tell a woman's intelligence, character and ability to hold a decent conversation by the tattoo she has.

personally, I hate Playboy and I dislike it when girls wear Playboy tattoos, jewelry and other accessories. I think it just helps women seem more like sex objects and NOT people. I hate watching "The Girls Next Door," it makes me sick. I guess girls who do that like the whole sex-object idea and they think that by getting it it makes them feel sexy and like a Playboy bunny (why would anyone want to be one anyways?). It also gets attention. But I have some feminist views and that's why I think that. I would never be caught dead with a Playboy tattoo or anything Playboy related.

i have NO CLUE!!!! it absolutely boggles my mind as to why someone would like to label themselves in that way. the only thing i can think of is that there are two types of people that get them 1. superficial girls who are so full of themselves they actually think they are/ or could be playboy bunnies and so it's like belonging to a private "i'm hot look at my boobs club" or 2. girls who are so insecure about themselves that they have to reassure themselves with a playboy tattoo that they are. oooh, i thought of a third.... the saying "you are what you eat" well maybe they have the "you are what you have tattooed" mentality and obviously if they have a playboy bunny they must be one (in their own mind and nobody else's)
you literally couldn't PAY me to get a playboy bunny tattooed on me.... okay, maybe you could but i swear i would take all of that money (it would be a lot) and immediately go to nick baxter and have that crap covered up with some amazing custom piece!!
