All these can be applied for again. You will be issued a duplicate copy. The only down side of the process is that it's time consuming. Let’s hope when you were born the documentation process were computerised. If not you have a major problem mate. The school certificate should be easy though. Go back to the school and apply for a duplicate certificate.

To apply for a passport you need have any three documents form the long list they provide. If you do not have the three, all you need to do is get what you have notarized. Once this is done, you have a valid document. Like for example, you can get your private telecom providers (Airtel, Tata Indicom etc) bill notarized and this can be presented as a valid document. Not mentioned in the list!!

If you find the going difficult, get a lawyer. They know the loop holes in the system. Believe me they can be of great help.

All the best.

In most countries, the requirement for applying passport is the applicant's authentic birth certificate plus your passport size photos. Nothing more, your mother's birth certificate nor your father has nothing to do with your passport application.

Actually you can get another birth certificate from the state your mother was born in. If she was born outside of the US the naturalization certificate that was given when she was sworn in as a citizen will suffice since that shows proof of citizenship.

She has to be able to prove where she was born. How about a baptisimal certificate from a church, writing the county where she was born to obtain her birth certificate....

You need that info to obtain a passport.
