Because the sausage mixture has to be put inside a soft skin, and you can't hold a soft skin in a square shape lolol.

I agree because you have to keep turning them to get all sides fried, it would be much easier to just flip them over... the reason that they are probably this way is because their machines are made with the meat coming out in that little stream like method....making it easier to put the meat in the skin that they use to wrap them....did you ever see it done....they hold up that skin and just hold it to the machine and the meat just injects it self into the skin....it's probably the fastest method....maybe if enough people complained about it they'll start making new machines and start making them square !!!!! Who knows....try writing the company !!!!! I hope this answers your question....bye.
