the adjuster will look at the car and make you an offer on what the insurance company is going to pay. if you have a leinholder on the auto you will have to fix the car. if you own the car outright, you can keep the money, but your insurance company needs to be notified of the damage so it cannot be claimed again.

More likely the inspector assesses the extent of damage.
If it's going to cost too much to repair compared to the "value" of the car, they will declare the car a "write off" and give you a portion of it's deemed value.

You should then have the option to "buy back salvage rights" to the car to repair yourself if you can do so cheaper than they think.

It is up to the insurers to decide if they will pay repairs or compensate you in other ways, ask them once they contact you.

the adjuster from insurance will determine how much is the damage....also they will make some investigation who's fault in was....mostly likely if u get hit from your back car that's for sure it was the other driver fault.

also remember don't fix your car until the adjuster come and see the damages cz if not that's going to be a big problem for u....they might deny paying your car........my suggestion let your insurance pay for your car first and let them deal with the other insurance....i did that....last year i got to an accident so i called my insurance and i let them handle everything.....BUT if you wanna keep the money instead u should negotiate w/them....most likely they would cz thats your car and your money now...

hey good luck i know this kinda BIG HASSLE for u.....
