When I bought my company, we inherited a scanner; it is about 5 years old I believe, but in really good condition.

I'm just wondering if there is somewhere that I can get the drivers for it for free...it is an Astra 1220U

thanks!

UMAX doesn't have the drivers available for download.. I have to purchase the CD-Rom for that; which I don't want to do esp. since they're none refundable or returnable; so if it doesn't work, I'm toast

From the UMAX website ? As they made it

http://www.umax.com/download/index.jsp

Select model (1220U) and then operating system from the dropdown boxes

P.S. I used to supply them via my job back about 1999, so a little more than 5 yrs old now . . .

Give this a try. Unplug your scanner and reboot computer. Now plug in the scanner and see if XP See's it. follow instructions on screen but let XP pick the driver...XP has universal drivers that work on a lot of scanners, it worked on my visionair that there website said was no longer supported. Good Luck

Oooh I think I had this scanner myself....but it didn't work w/ OS X...so unless your on a mac, you can probably find the driver...

This might be it but i'd double check...

if this doesn't work, checkout the UMAX website downloads section for more info!
