Chicken parmegiana ALWAYS goes with a red wine.
Frankly you could go to the red Italian section of your favorite wine store, toss a shuttlecock in the air and whatever bottle it falls on you will have a good match. However for me what I select is more determined by how robust and garlicky the sauce is. If not so much I choose a lighter Roman or Veronse red like a Valpolicella or a Barbera. If it is richer and spicier and with more herbs I get a fuller bodied Tuscan sangiovese vino tipica or a wine from the Marches. One thing for sure: for a great match one does not have to spend very much.
Outside of Italy I find most Rhone reds go very well with the dish as do Provences. South African pinotages also are interesting.

RE:
Can you recommend a red wine to pair with Chicken Parm.?
Yes, I know white wines usually go with poultry but considering the richness of this dish, I'd like to go with a red.

Wine "rules" are more snobbism that reality. Modern wine lovers say that you should drink whatever you like that tastes good to you with the food. If you are using a milder meat like chicken or veal, you need a more subtle red that you would want with red meats. Avoid the heavier flavors like Merlot unless this is really all you enjoy. Cooking with chicken and wine is classic. See any coq au vin recipe for possibly the most famous version of this. Red wine is also good in tomato-based sauces. I use a red wine in my chicken cacciatore. Another good use of wine with a simple grilled or pan sauteed chicken breast is a red wine reduction. Cook wine until reduced by at least one half. You can use as is or add herbs or a bit of real butter. A really pretty serving method is using a white cheddar or veloute sauce with a drizzle of a red wine reduction as a ganish.

actually a white would not be that good with this particular dish due to the red tomato sauce on top. but it has little to do with the richness, but more because of the tomato. You could do a pinot grigio or sauv blanc if you are just dying for a white. As both do OK with red sauce.
However, my first choice would be a sangiovse/chianti, italian style red for an italian dish. If those aren't available maybe a shiraz or a red zinfandel would fit the bill just fine.

How about a true Zinfandel, it's nice and spicy; or, a sparkling shiraz Jacob's Creek is excellent!!! If you change your mind, Pinot Grigio goes really well with Veal or Chicken Parm.

Usually chicken dictates a white wine, but I find a nice light Zinfandel works really well with Chicken, and will bring out the taste of the Parmisian. Makes me hungry just to think of it.

Since it has a red sauce, an Italian Chianti would work well with chicken parmesan.

try a nice valpolicella, a light to medium bodied red italian wine.it goes well with pizza, spaghetti with tomato/meat sauce, eggplant parmigiana, etc.
