Try the Microsoft updates, even the sp3 version can be downloaded free provided you have the genuine copy of the Microsoft ex/vista.

Dude, Microsoft still don't offer them free. Try this one just ask a friend and have a copy of the office CD(with CD key), try to install. There is no other ways which is giving under Microsoft rules.
You just need Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint so install customize when you got the CD.

There is no place to get a free version of either. But if you are a high school or college student, check with the school office. Often there are deals where you can get the programs cheap ($30 as compared to $300 for the whole Office package).
Or, you can try Open Office. It is an "open source" (meaning not copyrighted and no one can profit from it) program that is compatiable with all the Office (Word, Excel, PP, etc) files. Does everything Office does for free. http://openoffice.org

I don't think they are free. The CDs with the programs are at least 50p each from Bangkok night market. But if you buy 5 they usually throw in another one free. Many people just borrow and install. MS encourages it to spread their user base. Adobe is give online office software for free anyway, and they are better.

Ask if anyone has a Windows 3.1 set they have finished with. You could be struggling to find a 5 1/4 floppy reader though.
Ebay has Office97 + upgrade for 99p plus £4.99 p&p.
That will have most of the functionality you need - it was all there was 10 years ago and only the bells and whistles have changed.

Legally you cant, you just cant, you could try google, but anything you get there is illegal. If you need a free word processor, and PowerPoint, open office is your friend, it's just as good.
