In this situation, it's likely that present day Liberals would have demanded that the United States "join the international community" and help Soviet Russia conquer Poland, Germany, and Italy but would have opposed any attempt by the United States to retaliate against Japan.
Japan is a non-Caucasian nation and, in the racist minds of present-day Liberals, it is "racist" and wrong for a nation with a Caucasian majority to defend itself against a non-Caucasian nation*. Thus, while modern Liberals would have supported the United States in its war against Germany and Italy (so long as we promised to cede these nations to the Soviets after the war), they would have viciously opposed any attempts to retaliate against Imperial Japan, a savage regime that actually murdered more people (primarily Chinese people) then did the Germans...yet, interestingly, in every Liberal depiction of the war, the Japanese (non-Caucasian people) are shown as "honorable" and the Germans (Caucasian people) as being heartless and vicious.
*While claiming that it is “racist” for the United States to defend itself against the aggression of Imperial Japan, these same Liberals would claim that it is “racist” for the United States to attempt to defend China and stop Japan from slaughtering millions of Chinese.

No, James, and you know this already.
I'm so sorry. My heart is breaking, and my eyes are swelling with tears this very moment, because I don't want to accept the truth either. Libs just DON'T love America.
Deep breath here, I will stay strong like a Soldier, even if I am not one of you. I will do as I should do, not just as a duty, but what my heart says to do. Love and support the Troops, no matter what!

Most would except the very most radical members of the left who would argue that we started it by making Japan bomb us. Remeber most of the nation unlike Iraq still supports Afghanistan, kind of what happens when your attacked.
