I'm so sorry for your loss. My dog wasn't killed but she passed away yesterday from cancer so I understand your loss. You have to be able to prove that the neighbor did it to be able to do something about it legally. Even so though, call the humane society and tell them what you know and think may have happened. Perhaps they can investigate her.

I am very sorry for you lose. Losing a pet is a very traumatic experience as you grow to love them as much as a child.

You will never be able to prove the neighbor did it, and in my opinion you should not even try. It can only bring you more pain and prolong your grieving over the animal. There are always people in this world that get away with hurting others and very seldom do we get to see justice.

Grieve for your loss and in time, get another dog. Make sure you don't let the dog out without being confined to a leash or in your own fenced yard. Don't give the neighbor a chance to do anything to your new pet.

If the neighbor ever says anything about your pet look them right in the eye and say "I know the dog was killed" and then just walk away. They will get the idea that you know it was them and it could shame them temporarily.

Give yourself time and the pain will lesson. Soon you will be ready to have a new love in your life that has four feet.

Talk to other neighbors and see if anyone saw anything.

Killing an animal is one of the most disgraceful things anyone could ever do. As they are innocent creatures, and that just turned my stomach.

As the others have suggested, call animal control and talk to them about your situation, but you will need proof, otherwise little to nothing can/will be done, unfortunatly.

I am so sorry.

I'm so sorry for your loss! If you confront your neighbor in this way, she probably won't admit to anything. Call animal control and/or the police and describe your situation to them. They do have other things to do, but it's worth a shot.

I'm so, so sorry.

Maybe there is some way the vet could find out how your dog died. Maybe they could find out for you if it was poisoned or whatever. It's worth a shot just to call a vet and find out. I am very sorry this happened. I would be so sad if something like this were to happen to my dog. I'm so sorry.

Poor little fella. So sorry to hear about that.

I would still confront the neighbor even if they don't admit it. At least they will know that you know what happened.

I am so sorry for your loss.

You can make a report to animal control, but I don't know what they can do at this point, without proof.

That is sad she should have asked you to keep him quiet instead of killing him.
