You're right, absolutely... well, except for the following cases:
North Korea, which we have no interest in... one of the poorest nations in the planet.
East germany, we left alone, and it became so bad that West Germany didn't want to merge because of the poverty
Vietnam is an undeveloped hell hole since we left.
Somalia... yep, the bombing and ethnic cleansing continued long after we left.
Compare:
South Korea, a thriving country. Japan, a thriving country, West Germany (and now east germany too) a thriving country. Everywhere we go we are building the economy and improving the lives of people in that nation.
Oops, wait, looks like things AREN'T better if we leave too early. Incidently, things WEREN'T better in Iraq before we got there. The difference is that the violence was coming from the government rather than the insurgents, and the media wasn't allowed to report on it.

I agree with that. I write military fiction. In one of my books, I had to invade France and demolish a lot of the country to complete the objectives. When the Americans left, there was a country who wouldn't surrender at anything under the sun and would actually stand up for something. If not, the Germans know the way to Paris. The mainstream media never shows many of the stories about how life is better in Iraq and Afghanistan compared to before our invasions. They prefer to show the bombings. CNN even showed a terrorist-made video of one of our soldiers being sniped. That sounds like aiding and abetting the enemy.

"Iraq was functioning fine"
You my friend are ignorant and oubvously have never spent any time in Iraq.
Millions of people starved to death each year under Saddam.
Millions had no running water or sewers.
Millions had no electricity and millions died in systematic executions and attempts at genocide. T
here was no functioning health care or school system and thier economy was almost nonexistant following the Iraq-iran war.
I'm not saying things are peachy now but don't be so blind to reality.

Yea things are always better when we leave after we have rebuilt all of the infrastructure.
And pumped Billions of our own dollars into the country we have liberated.

Yes, that is true.
Be sure you look at the conditions before they went there in the first place and you will see vast improvements when they leave.
g-day!

That's usually because a place is usually so shitty when they get there, it can't helped but be improved by their presence and that effect lingers when they leave!
Maybe like your home?

Yeah, because when we are there we rebuild schools, hospitals, power plants, and water facilities. We also feed the hungry. God Bless America!
