I have nicked myself good a time or two with vaccines. the only one that gave me a problem was the parvo combo, no lepto. The next day I had severe vertigo. It went away, but scared the crud out of me, and no I didn't call the drl, I was a little embarassed and felt fine, it has been years..and I am fine.., but have a wierd craving for milk bones... just kidding on the bones!...

You should be fine. My question to you is why are you injecting youre dog with its vaccination? They are ONLY allowed to be given by a veterinary surgeon after a thorough health check. There is a certain rabbit vaccination that can be VERY dangerous but the contents of these vials will (the vanguard ones) be fine as long as it wasnt over 1ml of content injected.

I'll agree with the others about you.
Now for the dog.......... Annual vaccinations are no longer needed. and some of what you were giving are no longer recommended at all for a dog.
Read Wisconsin University duration of immunity on vaccinations.

Next read what and how often the vaccinations are. This is the protocol used by all 27 U.S. vet schools

In case of accidental self-injection, wash the area immediately with water. If symptoms develop, seek medical attention

Well, I guess you won't be suffering from Kennel Cough, will you? Definitely phone the vet and see if it was harmful. If it was for a small dog you probably aren't in any great danger and if you really injected yourself (I think, by the sound of it, it was just a pin prick) It might not be a bad idea to see what you did if anything to yourself.

Did you just stab yourself, or were you stupid enough to actually inject the entire thing into your body?

If you just stabbed yourself your probably fine, its not like that stuff is toxic or something if the dog doesn't die from it neither will you dogs and humans aren't that different.

But if you somehow managed to inject yourself with all of it, my first question is HOW THE HELL?? and my advice would be to call someone immediately, possibly the vet that gave it to you 911 may not be necessary.

I am not laughing at you,More or less with you.But I would call your local vet or shelter to see if medical assistance is needed.I always take my fur kids to the Vet for their vaccinations,But do know ppl who do it themselves. But at least you wont be catching parvo or kennel cough.LOL Either way to be safe just call your vet.And let us know if any side effects like barking or biting your butt occurs or chasing cats is involved..haha I'm sorry,But you made my day dear friend!

I know the thumbs down are coming my way, but i really wouldnt worry about it. Unless you really injected yourself with a very good amount i highly doubt it will hurt you.
This is one of the reasons our medical costs are out of control. People rushing to the doctors over the slightest issue.
You will be fine...

I would seek medical advice from the Vet in the first instance.
Then trust their advice.

At least you will be free from Distemper and Mange.
:~}

Sorry I can't resist these.
Was it an 'arf arf' dose?
Feeling a little 'wuff'?
Maybe you should see the 'dogtor'!

Sorry again. It has to be done though.

Call Vanguard, but from what i've read you are probably going to be fine. Unless your dog has AIDS.
