I use .338 Win Mag for Elk. Elk is kinda close to a moose.
I use reloads with either a 225 grain bullet or a 250 grain bullet. Both should be sufficient.
Of course grain weight will vary with your caliber of choosing.

Moose are big, heavy boned animals. You'll need a heavy bullet to plow through to the vitals. In a .30-06 something like a 168 grain and 180 grain would be even better. It would help if you stated what caliber you are going to be using.
Best.

In a 300 win mag I used 200 grain spitzer boat tail by Sierra. I only shot one and it was about 450 yards.

about how far you plan on shooting and what you will be shooting (the rifle you know 30/06, 7mm mag, 338/06, 338 federal, 375 Ruger) would be nice. without that i would go with no less than 180grain bullets

What caliber rifle are you using. grain weights differ from caliber to caliber.
.308 has several different grain weights.
30-06 has several different grain weights.
45-90 has several different grain weights.
7mm Remington magnum has several different grain weights.
Tell us what caliber, and an experienced moose hunter will be able to tell you what grain weight and projectile type to use.

It would also be a "Real" help if you would give us some "Real" ideas of the ranges and distances you intend to shoot these Moose from. This is as important as what caliber you intend to use............
NOTE* You are going to have to invest in a good quality Laser Range Finder anyway.........
