If the shrimps are small, it would be rather difficult to devein them, in which case, there is no need to do so. However, if they are big, it is better to take out the waste before deep-frying.

Living in Puerto Rico I have been shrimping in the rivers and have cooked shrimp dozens of times and take it from me and from the chefs here, no matter how you cook, prepare, fry, bake, steam, chill,or eat your shrimp you must, must always take off that black line in the middle of it's back, if not you will be eating it.
The shrimp has to be throughly cleaned and washed. If you leave the fin tail on no problem because I love it's crunchy taste, but that black line on the back has to definatly have to go if you want to eat great tasting shrimp.

If you are preparing them for yourself, by all means, do whatever makes you happy.
When cooking for others, don't make that call for them. The 'blackline' is a one-way digestive track for the shrimp. It contains food in the digesting process and waste that is ready to come out.
I would highly recommend taking it out always. Just the thought of it being there is gross, but you would never want an outside agent affecting the flavor of anything you cook.
I hope this helps.

I will NEVER eat shrimp without it being cleaned. It's waste - why would you eat it if you have a choice. It doesn't matter if it's cooked or not, still nasty. I mean, you aren't going to die - it's just gross.
I work in a restaurant and I would never serve any that weren't cleaned out. Hope that helps...

Even frying won't change the fact that the black line is their waste. I prefer mine clean but I know I have eaten it before, especially on smaller shrimp.
I'm still here and I'm still full of s*it, just like the shrimp.

I prefer deveining shrimp before cooking. Some allow it to remain. It will not hurt you or change the taste, matter of choice.

Yeah, it's okay when I'm home but when I have to go outside, I always have to wear a bra. I feel uncomfortable without it.

What size shrimp are you frying?
If the shrimp are small, then I wouldn't
If they are larger, like what's used for tempura, then I would devein them.
Butterflying the shrimp would make it cook more evenly

Any shrimp that are small enough to coat in batter and deep fry wouldn't be all that easy to devein, so I wouldn't bother with it. I don't know anyone who could tell the difference once they were cooked and dipped in cocktail sauce anyway.

It's your preferrence. I prefer not to eat the shrimp's waste products. I believe shrimp should always be cleaned.
