I want to make pigs in a blanket for dinner tonight. How do I make these? Do I bake the croissants with the hot dog in them or do I bake the croissants and separately boil the hot dogs? Help, I'm confused! Also, what is a good side to go with pigs in a blanket? Thanks in advance!

take the hot dogs and slice the skin (not all the way through the dog), add a slice of american cheese if you like, and roll up in the croissant and bake. If you bake the croissants first they won't be flexible to wrap around the dog.

A couple of good sides would be mac & cheese or french fries or any veggies! Maybe even a little side salad.

Sounds like a yummy meal to me! Enjoy!

These are easy and delicious.
Purchase hotdogs, cheese and cresent rolls.
Open rolls and seperate.
Slit the hotdog down the side making sure not to cut all of the way through.
Fold the cheese up so you can get at least 1/2 a piece in each dog.
Lay dog on cresent roll and roll up.
I personally like the whole dog wrapped up so sometimes I will use two cresent rolls per dog and make sure the whole dog is enclosed.
bake till brown and golden.
I like a lettuce salad, baked beans, cukes with mine...

When I make them I slit the partially slit the hotdogs and put cheese in it. Then I wrap the croissant (or refrigerated biscuits work too) around the hotdogs. Bake them on a cookie sheet for the time/temperature stated on the croissant package. We have french fries, mac 'n cheese, or just a veggie (corn or green beans usually) with them.

I use Grand biscuits instead. Flatten the biscuit, sprinkle some cheese ( I use sharp cheddar), lay hot dog or sausage, and wrap biscuit around hot dog. Lay on baking sheet with seam down. Serve with mustard or BBQ sauce for dipping. As for side dish, baked beans go really well with these.

Everyone is correct but everyone left out 1 thing. Cheese. Slice the hot dog and stuff it with cheese. Then wrap the crescent dough around it and bake a few minutes.

we use them little smokies sausages
we unroll the pillsbury crossants and cut out little strips with a pizza cutter, lay the sausage in a strip and roll it up and put it into a nonstick baking pan
then bake them at 400 degree for 12 to 14 minutes
or according to package directions for rolls.
the rolls will cook and the meat will be nice and hot

wrap the croissant dough around the hot dog and bake them together for about 15-18 mins.
good sides would be mac and cheese and a salad.. or corn and coleslaw.. anything really but you want to keep it simple
