Your sister is wrong, sweet girl. God's Word tells us to "pray without ceasing." What you were doing was good, but also remember when you pray to thank God as well, not just ask Him for something.

God bless you!

Pray with out ceasing. Yes when we sin we should ask for forgivness as soon as posible. It is important to set a time during the day to spend time in God's Word and in prayer.

Do this: Confess that Jesus is the Son of God. Get baptized (emerged in water/under water) Walk in Jesus' footsteps, obey the Gospel of Christ. Then when you pray, He will listen, you'll be a child of Christ. You can pray anytime you wish, alone. Rest assured if you are a child of Christ you will be forgiven. Don't commit the same sin over and over, tho.You have to strive to be better.

When do you talk to your friends? When you make a mistake, or mess up, when do you say something about it? If you hurt someones feelings, when do you apologize? When do you just have a conversation on the phone with anybody..for no reason at all..just to talk? Or, if something good happens, when do you share it? When do you tell others? Well, don't you think He is just as interested too? or deserves your time of day.."just because?" Prayer is like that..it's when ever, where ever, why ever.....or "just because!" ...bye!

...Pray your way through the day, in every awake hour. Our Father loves His children and desires our fellowship. He is available 24/7, loves us, and does not tire of us talking to Him (which is what prayer is). In I Thessalonians 5:17 we read this: "Pray without ceasing".

The Bible says to pray about everything and worry about nothing. We should talk to the Lord all day--we build relationships by communication. Keep talking --the Lord is pleased.

I think of it like having a conversation with God. Whenever I think of Him, I pray. I would pray everytime you think of it. IT's a great thing to do!!

Your brother human being (me) is an atheist. I suppose that won't help. I think that the answer depends on who you respect most, your self or your sister.
