I have always been told, and have researched a little bit myself...You want to go LCD if you are buying a TV 40" and under...you may be able to fudge a little and maybe go 42", but the reason behind this is any ;arger than 40" on a LCD you get the "screen door" effect where you can see pixels...Go Plasma if you are going above 40"...no screen door effect , and as far as the gas running out goes that was more with the first generation of plasma tv's...and who is ever going to watch 5,000 hours of TV before the next technology comes out anyway.

plasmas having to be regassed is an urburn myth and a blatent lie!!!!

LCD, plasma's have to be re-gassed..... expensive
