first of all, you are really sweet to do this for your wife. next this is an easy one that never fails. ingredients - dinner for two.
1. four center cut pork chops
2. two cans of consumme (beef soup, thick)
3.one large green bell pepper
4.11/2 cups of white rice (uncooked)
heat the oven to 350 degrees before you start
in a frying pan add a few teaspoons of butter, then put the chops in to get browned
a minute or so on each side. get a baking dish 13x9in. put the rice in the dish. then,
put the browned chops on top of the rice.
then, open the cans of consumme and pour
them over the chops. then, cut the whole pepper in half, clean out the seeds, slice it in thin strips and put this on top of the whole
set up in the dish. put in a 350 degree heated oven, for 45 minutes. voila!!
you will receive the keys to the kitchen forever. bon appetite! (serve with a nice red wine or a glass of beer and some good rye bread)

Great recipe for you. Whole roasted chicken, a big one. I say a big one so you can use the leftovers to make a great chicken salad. Or to make sandwiches for lunch. Buy a whole chiken. Take off all the little feathers and the extra fat right at the opening of the cavity. Remove the giblets maybe in a little bag. You can save this for gravy or toss them. Pat you chicken dry. Season with salt pepper and fresh lemon juice. Rub butter all over the chicken in and out this crisps the skin and seal in the juices. Bake the chicken open at 275F. Slow and steady for one hour then flip the chicken and roast again for another hour. Then to crisp the skin bake at 400Ffor half hour. Let the chicken rest for half an hour loosely covered with foilto retain the juices. You can make a side of minute rice and make a fresh garden salad. You can add fresh spinach leaves and sliced nuts like walnuts or pecans to a bag salad. This will be easy for you!! For the chicken salad. Use the leftover cold chicken cut up into small peices add chopped red onions, chopped celery, and green peppers. Mix in Mayo ( my secret a little evaporated milk, 1/4 - 1/2 cup for creaminess) Blackpepper and Mrs. Dash if you dont want to use salt. Serve with salad and toasted pita bread for a great lunch or for dinner tomorrow. A great drink with or without liquor. Mix Country time Lemonade mix as instructed, add fresh squeezed lime juice about four limes for a quart of juice. Add vodka if you would like, to the mix for a great cocktail!! Save a couple of limes for garnish!! Im sure you will do great!!! Have fun!! Dont forget to breathe! :)))

Something easy that looks and tastes ALOT harder than it is pasta! I would suggest the following if the ingredients are something you would enjoy:
Linguini with mushrooms, grape tomatoes and fresh smoked mozzarella cheese
1 lb linguini cooked to al dente
two 10 oz packages of white button mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup white wine
1/2 cup olive oil
1 pint grape tomatoes, washed
1 ball of fresh smoked mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
1 Tbsp dried basil
1/2 tsp nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
Heat a large sautee pan over med-high heat and add 3 tbsp olive oil.
Remove stems from mushrooms and then slice them. Add the sliced mushrooms to the hot pan and then salt them. Allow the mushrooms to cook, stirring occasionally until all their liquid is gone.
At this point add the garlic and cook for an additional minute or two (do not allow the garlic to get dark)
Remove the pan from the heat and add the white wine to deglaze the pan.
Add the nutmeg and some fresh cracked black pepper. Allow to continue cooking until the wine has been absorbed by the mushrooms. When all the liquid is gone add the remaining olive oil and the basil.
When the olive oil starts to crackle, lower the heat to med-low and add the tomatoes. Place a lid over the pan and cook for another few minutes (until the tomatoes are hot and just about to pop). At this point remove the lid and add the cooked linguini. Toss the pasta in the sauce and then add the cheese. Toss again and return the lid to the pan until the cheese starts to melt.
Serve with romano cheese on top.
Don't forget dessert! Make chocolate ganache and whipped cream and then have romantic things to dip in it like strawberries, pineapple and small cubes of pound cake. Then feed it to her and she will melt in your arms.
Amazing Chocolate Ganache Recipe
8oz heavy whipping cream
8oz bittersweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
1oz dark rum or grand marnier
Bring the cream to a boil in a saucepan. When it is just come to a rolling boil remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Allow to sit for about a minute to allow the chocolate to melt and then whisk until smooth. Add the 1tbsp of butter and whisk until smooth and glossy. When the ganache has cooled slightly add the 1oz of liquor and then whisk until just combined. Serve at room temperature.
