Well they are both based on bronze-age myths and fairy-tales so, yes, they are.

Yes they are. Here is some information Judaism, Christianity, and Islam-these are the three faiths that have evolved from Abraham(Ibrahim) there will not be another major faith after Islam. If a person believes in the ten commandments then all three are closely related- one of the 10 commandments is THERE IS ONY ONE GOD
There are two sects of Jews one believes in Jesus as God the other does not
There are two sects of Islam (sunni and shia) sunni believe that after Mohammed (PBUH) died that Abu Bakr took over and lead the religion
shia believe that Ali Mohammed's cousin took over and lead the religion and the religion's leader ship stayed within the blood line
Muslims do not believe in the Trinity and we believe that Jesus was a prophet not God incarnate
Christianity has multiple sects (believe that God and Jesus are one and believe in the trinity, father son holy spirit)
Islam and Christianity are closely related both believe in the Gospels and the Torah
both believe Jesus will be coming back to Earth on the last day!

Yes and no.

Christianity came from judaism, but thoroughly modernised it with a message of love for the underdogs.

Muhammad was a response to Christianity spreading worldwide, and his theology (and concept of the Almighty) is more "old testament". He learned about Judaism from a conservative rabbi.

There is a Christian element in Islam, (give to the poor) but the element of worship in Islam is far greater, like prayer 5 times a day for ten minutes, plus haj, plus fasting, rather than half an hour at church on Sundays, or Christmas and Easter if you're less pius and Christian.

The early Christians were "left wing" social activists, rather than esoteric worshippers. The message was of love and inclusion, wheras Islam was about worshiping God, and winning favour, through ceremony and ritual.

It is likely that Muslims will try and convert you by saying they are similar.

believe that God has created the entire universe out of nothing and that He dominates all that exists with His omnipotence.

believe that God has created man and living things in a miraculous way and that man possesses a soul granted him by God.

believe that besides Jesus, Moses or Muhammad, God sent many prophets such as Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Joseph throughout history, and they love all these prophets.

believe in resurrection, Heaven and Hell and angels, and that God has created our lives with a certain destiny.

There are similarities in all religions. But that does not make them closely related. The Islamic religions and the Christian religions differ on many critical points. They are not closely related.

Yes. It is. The main difference is that Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God, and God.

Not at all one, Christianity is having true faith and believe in God...Muslim religion is a man-made religion made up of false hopes and truth.

Not even remotely. Muslims emphatically deny that Christ is God and that he resurrected from dead. They have produced another so-called Holy Book which is a perversion of the Christian Bible.

Not even in the least way. Muslims use the names of the prophets other than that not at all. Muslims believe in the names of the prophets but not their words. Christianity believes all men are sinners and worthy of death and only saved through the atonement because God is righteous and man is not.
Islam believes that some is is okay Allah overlooks sin and weighs it to see if you have more good than bad,
Totally different gods yet Allah says he is the same God.

Edit okay many thumbs down for saying they are not at all the same...consider the prophets of God...Here is what the God of the Christians and Jews had to say about prophets and spirits.
Deut.13: 1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

A prophet of God must be in agreement with the words of the prophets and the known word of God.

1John 2: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Anyone who claims to be a prophet of God must agree Jesus is the Christ the Son of God who is our savior.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist

Gal. 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

If an angel or a man preach a different gospel he is not of God.

Now if Muhamamd had agreed with this he would not have believed the spirit that gave him the Qu'ran and he would have believed Jesus is the Son of God.
Had Muhammad been a prophet according to the God that created Muhammad then he would have realized he was not a prophet of god nor could he be a prophet of God without agreeing with the word of God and the prophets of God and accepting Jesus as his savior.

Edit No problem Bob it's not a sermon but the word of God that is avialable to us all and was available to Muhammad.
God Bless.
