-A martyr was removed for killing hundreds of thousands of his own people through brutal and inhumane ways
-The American military and allies are killing more Al Qaeda along with insurgents over there.
-The military liberated a country of oppressed people.
-Iraq has a (infantile) democracy in place.
So...what's the problem?
Are you mad because you think this war is 'illegal?' It's not.
Are you mad because military men/women are dying fighting for your freedom as well as mine and the protection of future generations? (Side note -- the military men/women voluntarily sign up for this lifestyle)
So what's your problem with the war/occupation in Iraq?

Is it because innocent civilians are dying? Innocent people are casualties of any war...not just this one.

I Had no problem with the Invasion / Liberation... I supported it since March of 1991. William Jefferson Clinton had stated that US Policy was for "Regime Change" in 1998. I did 5 more cruises over there AFTER my time in the Gulf War, trying to enforce the sanctions of the UNITED NATIONS.
What I have a problem with was the Conduct / Planning (lack of) of the occupation / rebuilding.
Liberals simply have no STOMACH for a fight... unless it's a fight to murder babies, promote deviant behavior, or steal from the working to feed and shelter the lazy.

Everybody except Sahara has made valid points. The war is a necessary evil. If you don't correct a child, how is he going to know what's right and what's wrong in polite society?
Just two points..
(1) Hussein was not martyred. He was executed... by his own people under their laws.
(2) We are not "occupying" Iraq. On the contrary, we're trying to give it back to the Iraqis so we can leave. Terrorists are principally al Qaeda, and mujahadin from outside Iraq. Those foreigners want to have Iraq... and its oil... for themselves. They are the ones who wish to "occupy" Iraq.

What people don't seem to realize is that the suicide bombers kill more innocent Iraqi civilians than our military. They would be doing this even if our military wasn't there. They act like Vietnam was the first war in which civilians were killed and Iraq is the second.

Chemical weapons:there
Biological Weapons:there
Nuclear Weapons Program:there, had not developed weapon yet
Murdered own citizenry with chemical and biological weapons:yes
Threat to the regions stability:yes
Supporter of terrorism against the U.S. and her allies:we waxed his a$$ in the first Gulf War;I believe he carried a grudge and wished to avenge his defeat,DUH.
There is no problem, the U.S.,U.N. and the other free nations of the world responded correctly to the threat posed by Iraq.

There is nothing wrong with invading Iraq. There is a major problem with not establishing a stable government there. We may need to kill half the population to stop the fighting but that is OK. It is much better to have half the Iraqi population killed than half the US population die!

I think we did the better for us and for the Iraqis by going over there. Soon if the next president is determined like Bush in making us safer, we will see the fruits of the Iraq war...

Apparently, both the President and Congress supported the operation:

I wonder how many people have actually READ it!

They don't remember how many people die in any other wars. Nor do they remember history.

The reason for the war in Iraq was not to remove Saddam. The premise for going to war was wrong. Our continued presence there is not doing us any good and it is hurting all of us economically and causing us increased security concerns. The U.S. helped establish Saddam in Iraq. We supported Iraq in the Iraq vs. Iran war.
