I don't think you can rename the actual A, B, C... headings. You can, however, create your own headings using Row 1 cells.

Excel uses the letters and numbers to reference cells (A1, J24, etc.).

I don't think you can. I read in a review of Apple's Numbers the other day that they are the 1st spreasheet program to allow you to rename column headings.

I'm not sure you can make it. But you can rename a cell, select it and in the left corner you'll see the name of it (A1), there write a new name and Enter. Now every there you'll apply to this cell (e.g in formulas) it would be not A1 but as you called it.

I use row1 for labeling my columns, but I'll see if there is a way to actually rename the column labels.

You can rename individual cells, but I don't see a way to change how you see A,B,C,...,X,Y,Z or 1,2,3,...,998,999,1000
