I have been dating a guy for what will be a year in November. Everything has been going real well. On September 18th he just disappeared, didn't call, didn't return my calls and then out of the blue on the morning of October 1st he re-appeared with a text message saying "Good morning! Have a great day!"

What do you suppose would initiate those actions and what could possibly be going on in his mind??

That's a good 2-3 of clearance. Be upfront and honest. See why he was so distant for so long. Tell how you felt while he was gone.

Honestly though, If i were to leave for 2-3 weeks, it would probably be becuase i just wanted some space. some alone time. some time to think or get my priorities straight.

but you'll never know until you ask him...

Is this somebody you actually "see" on a regular basis, or is this an "online" relationship? If this is somebody that you actually see face to face regularly and you've been dating for a year, I can't imagine why you haven't asked him where the &%#$ he went to! Given the amount of time he was gone, the first thing I think of is that he went on a vacation or trip somewhere...a two week trip with another love interest, perhaps? Given your description, it seems that this is an online or long distance thing, otherwise you would have known if he was still at his workplace or in the area....a bit more detail could be helpful. Bottom line, you should go ahead and ask him where he's been! Take care...

You can do nothing. Just be his good friend. Girls are many, friends are few. Be his friend and have no expectation. Sometimes you can have all that you want from a person by just being his/her friend. Yes, sex, marriage or love are inferior to a pure friendship.

I was one of those guys who would die for good-looking girls. But today they do not even catch my attention. I look for a girl I can talk to, I can spend hours with. Sex is not on top of my head. And I do ot mind someone who is not very pretty but is otherwise intelligent, friendly, honest and has a sweet nature. Be helpful, but also see that people do not take advantage of you. It takes time for guys to appreciate true beauty and I totally believe you have it. So be good and you will get all that you deserve. Take care

Good grief, that could be any number of reasons. Best thing to do is ask him, he owes you an explanation. And regardless what the reason is, there is never an excuse for behavior like that. Very odd indeed.

He either met someone, had sort term amnesia, or got arrested for something, or any of a thousand other things. I would ask him and if it sounds like he is lying he probably is. Then you have to decide if he is worth anymore of your time.

He found someone else and then lost her. You need to dump that guy for good and let him know that you moved on.

He was somewhere else doing something else. It may have been less than he hoped so now you're the fallback position.

If he was sincere he would have warned you of his absence, so unless he can explain himself he does not appear to be sincere - I think you should break up with him in that case.
