No, not weird at all. This is actually completely normal behaviour for cat - they prefer running water. This is why you can buy fountains for cats if you need to encourage them to drink, e.g if they're diabetic.
It probably stems from natural instincts - running water is more likely to be fresh and healthy. Still water is more likely to be stagnant. I too prefer drinking from a tap actually.
A friend of mine's cat only ever drinks from her bidet, she has to turn it on three or four times a day for her.

My cat does that, my mom's cat does that, your cat does that...it's just a thing for some cats. They like to drink from the tap rather than their bowls. I always leave fresh water out and if I'm in the bathroom I will turn the water on for him there too.

It's not strange at all, there are many animals that love drinking from running water. You can get a fountain water bowl for your cat and if he still doesn't drink from it, place it by the sink and he will be more likely to use it. As the days pass, move it a little farther away and eventually into the floor. He will learn before to long :)

Yesh!!! He is just a little weird! My cat Gypsie does this, she doesnt drink out of the water bowl, but rather every time we go to use the bathroom...she runs as fast as she can and jumps into the bathrub and waits for us to turn on the faucet a little...then turn it off...so she can drink the water that drips from it....Oi....
Anyways, cats just have their own little personalities and each and every one of them is different and unique....I think the reason why Gypsie prefers the water from the faucet instead of her bowl is because she is a Miss Priss..and the water from the faucet is fresher! And she gets our attentions...*You should see her face when we dont give her the water right away or forget....She seriously looks like she is saying..OH NO YOU DIDNT! ...with a hand on her hip lol!*
But you have nothing to worry about it...This is normal... for most cats do this and have this behaviour...Just feel lucky that your kittie does cute things like that ^ ^!

Quite normal really. My oldest wont lap from his water bowl, instead he scoops it up with his paw and then drinks from his paw.
cats only need fresh water twice a day. 1 in morning and 1 at night. He is just being a kitten who also may think that a dripping tap is good fun,. I dont know where you are, but here in U.K. our water is heavily treated with floride ect. I can smell it at times when i do their water. Maybe with a dripping tap, the smell is not so pungent and he prefers it this way. He is deffo not weird.

properly now and back they are able to be obdurate! purely confirm you combine countless liquid into the dry foodstuff for now. I often go away water out in any respect cases, ultimately they do drink. you may now and back help them alongside with the aid of dipping your hands into the water, and then touching their muzzle with it, then lead them all the way down to the water which incorporate your hands. that is going to take a little time, some kittens take longer than others to seize on! i'm fostering 3 4 week old kittens good now and that they are taking longer than typical to income the thank you to eat/drink out of a dish often the little buggers dig good in yet no longer those ones.. I purely shop showing them the water and foodstuff and playing in it with my palms and bringing it to their face.. little with the aid of little they're attempting it! despite the fact that as long as your kitten is ingesting soggy dry foodstuff purely attempt including greater water interior the foodstuff so as that the kitten gets the liquid she needs, additionally i come across in case you disguise the foodstuff with water so as that they must suck it up until now they get to the kibble.. it helps instruct them to drink water!

hehe...no, he's just being a cat. All the cats I've had have scorned the water in their bowl. If it were up to them, our bathroom tap would be running all the time.

My cats did that too. I got them a little water fountain/cat bowl to drink from. They sell them. That way the water was always running for them to drink from.

My cat refuses to drink from his bowl! But as soon as he goes outside he starts drinking manky rainwater from the puddles! We've had to put a bowl outside and keep it filled with water and each time he goes outside he drinks from that. He point blank won't drink inside!

the dripping water is more interesting than water in a bowl, keep the door shut to the bathroom, that is what I have to do.
