If you like this girl then you will keep up the good work. Even though you men dont think that we women can have very busy lives it is very possible that she is busy. We dont just say that to get out of a date. She told you that it would be good on friday so go with that. I think you did the right thing and to follow up you should email her on thursday to make sure that things are good. Women sit around and wait for that one phone call too and our heart leaps when it finally comes through. We are not as cold hearted as some of you think and we get that giddy feeling everytime someone shows interest in us. Keep up the good work and good luck with your date

You admit that you pushed her away and that you are trying to make up for it. It is up to you to take the initiative and set up a lovely date. I don't mean expensive, necessarily, but lovely. Call her and ask for a date on a specific day and time, then plan something that you know she will like. She has been hurt, and will not trust you for a while. You've got a little work ahead of you.

And, be honest about the fact that you regret pushing her away. She should believe you, and it would clear the way to some honest feelings.

Your friends sound like they are wanting you to be "cool" about this. I think if you're cool with her, you'll lose her.

you are trying to get her back... that means you should be patient and honest!!!! i dont understand if you already have plans for friday and you are trying to get her in, but i dont think its a good idea to invite a girl over to some place you are going to be around people. its better all alone, to talk and make things flow.... slowly cause another mistake u can make her go away forever... be very patient, if shes interested in you she will call you back as soon as she can!!!!

I found two websites that may help you on your problem. The first one seems better, though:
