satan entered Judas when he ate the bread, so I think John is referring back to the Supper. I don't think Jesus washed Judas' feet.

When did Satan enter Judas Iscariot?
[Luke 22:3 vs. John 13:27]
Satan initially entered Judas Iscariot long before the Last Supper. Judas had become more and more open to Satanic influence in his life (John 12:6, Luke 22:3,47). But that night Satan entered Judas in a far deeper, more profound, even physical sense (John 13:27).

Yes I believe that Jesus washed Judas feet. In verse 2 he was just given the IDEA into his heart, but that didn't mean that he had to act on it or even made up his mind at this point to do it.

Jesus knew as well as you should that without Judas, Jesus mission was not complete. Watch that Satan is not allowed to interpret things for you or you will ever be confused!

Jesus ate the last supper with Judas, and Jesus washed his feet. The Greek word for "put" is 'ballo' which means to 'scatter, cast, or throw, into'. Judas of his own free will chose to act upon the thoughts that Satan cast into his mind. Satan had been working on Judas for about a year (Jesus said the year before this occurance that one of the 12 was a devil [diabolos-false accuser]).
Judas was called and chosen by the Lord, in prophesy it is said, (Ps 41:9) "Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me."
"The figure here is taken from a horse that turns and kicks him that had fed him."--Barnes Notes on the Bible

in Luke 22:31 Jesus tells Peter this: " Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat." The word for "hath desired" in the Greek is 'exaiteomai' which means 'to demand, as something due in order to punish or torture', and it's in the middle voice which means Satan is doing this for his own sake or purpose.
Satan wants all of us, his desire is to destroy all that is the Lord's.
But Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith fail not...He also prayed for us: Joh 17:15 "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil." Actually it is, "the evil one". And "from" in the Greek is, literally, "out of", and means "out of the hands of". Jesus prayed that His Father would guard us with care so that we would be out of the hands of the evil one. But Satan and all that are of the world will continue to tempt and to accuse and to oppress those that belong to the Lord, that's why Paul said (Ephesians 6:11) that we must put on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the methods of the devil.

Jesus was apparently a well know figure, he had talked to the Pharisees and other temple leaders, he threw out the money lenders and had entered the city in a triumphant pageant. Why in the world did they need anyone to identify him?
