No, you have not waited too long to go back to college. There are college freshmen out there in their 60s and 70s going back for the college degree that they have always wanted and dreamed of having. My brother went in his mid 30s back to college to get his MBA and has since graduated. I have a friend who is about 60 years old and is going for her associates degree. As you can see, it is never too late to go back to school and get your degree. I will include some free resources to find money to go to college.
First, complete the FAFSA form. At your age, unfortunately, your parents' income and savings along with your income and savings will be taken into consideration. However, do not let that stop you from going back to college. It will qualify you for the Pell Grant (if you meet the EFC requirements), work study program (brings in an income), need based scholarships from the college's endowment fund, and student loans. This needs to be completed each year in early January or early February until you graduate from college with your degree.
Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships out there including some not even listed on the web.
Finally, join several free scholarship search engines. They will search for scholarships based on the information you enter into a form. There is a scholarship for almost anything out there.
Good luck!

It's the best option for you.
Education is the key for any decent career these days, and to not go to college is a serious knick in how you will live in the future. Sure, there are some exceptions, but unless you have lots of money, you will need an education in order to get anywhere in this world.
20 is a great time to go back to school. Worst case scenario you would be 32-33 (assuming you went to medical school) before you started a career...which would still leave you a good 25 years of working. That's enough to build a decent retirement.

It could be, if you have to take on excessive debt. It is never too late to go back to school. Ask yourself - when I'm 37 will I be better off with or without a degree. But even for students in their 20s, excessive debt is crushing. Limit yourself to State schools or schools where you get financial aid. Do not go into debt that can not be paid back quickly. Community College is a possibility - just do very well. Also, if you can get a job, any job, at a large company that offers tuition reimbursement that may be a way to go. Good luck, man, I wish you the best.

Only you can decide if this is the right time. But the mere fact that you are seriously considering it is a good sign. If, and when, you go back to school you will need to be serious about your education. College is expensive nowadays and you don't want to waste your money or your time. Going to school after a short break could be beneficial to you ... hopefully you seize the moment and go forward with your education ... it will be a decision that you will not regret.
I went back at 38 and finished my degree. I am an advocate of life-long-learning.
Thanks for sharing this good news with us ... and best of luck to you!

If you feel like you are ready for the responsibility then it is a right time. I understand why you don't want to wait. The longer you wait the older you will be when you find and begin your career. In many cases it's good not to go just out of high school because you give yourself more time to mature and think about what you want to do.

Any age is a good time for college. I just completed my bachelor's degree after many on-again, off-again college classes (I'm 37 and was far from the oldest in my program).

If you don't go now, WHY NOT? If not now, WHEN? Your mind is still fresh, and I see that you are still thinking. college is always a good choice and option. You can never learn too much. So pull yourself up by your boot straps and get going.
