you may have been infected by an adware for word to pdf converters. or you may have installed one in the past and had set it as a default printer. check your printer settings in the control panel and make sure that your printer is the default device. then run an anti-spyware software like ad-aware and spybot. run an anti-virus too for added protection and guarantee.

You have not stated what you wish to do. Do you want to print as PDF or to a real printer?

I assume that you just want to print to a printer.

Your computer is configured so that the *primary* "printer" is actually not a printer at all, but a PDF converter that creates a .pdf file out of your document.

To configure the computer for a real printer, hit the start button, then Printers and Faxes. In there you will see one or more icons corresponding to various printers you can use (or things that are not printers at all but act like one, like a PDF converter)

If your printer is not listed you need to install the driver for it. Hit Add a Printer and follow the instructions for your particular printer. Otherwise just right click on the icon for your real printer and then choose the second option on the menu:
"Set as default printer"

That should now enable Word and any other program to print to the real printer instead of the PDF converter.

If its asking to save the file as a .PDF, then you have the wrong printer selected as your default.

Go into the Control Panel through the start button and click "Printers and Faxes". In that list, you will see most likely two or three icons, right click your printer and select the "set as default". If this still does not work, try reinstalling the software that came with your printer.

For whatever reason Windows had lost the information it needs to see your printer. So it is using file printing routines installed by other program instead.

First, go into the Control Panel and the Printer icon and see if your printer is listed. If not, you will need to reinstall the software that came with it. If it is listed, right click on it and make it the default printer.

It sounds like your default printer is set to a PDF writer. If you want to keep the PDF as your default, then in Word, click on File>Print>then choose the printer to print to. If you want to change it permanently, click on Start>Control Panel>Printers>right click the printer that you want as your default>Choose set as default.

Email me if you have any more questions.

PS--you probably need to reinstall acrobat.

Your default "printer" is a driver for producing special files. Open the printer dialog and at the top look at the list of files or set of icons. Click on the drop down arrow (list) or scroll the icons until you find the printer you normally use and select that.

attempt sturdy PDF author V6 to work out if it somewhat works for you. acquire the unfastened trial, there are no limits and it does no longer watermark your archives. purely set up the applying and then open your checklist in word and choose print and then choose for this equipment because of the fact the printer and a PDF would be created.

Check the printer that it selected as the default...make sure it is actually a printer that is selected, not Acrobat distiller.

sounds like a setup issue with acrobat. have you checked to see if anything says "plot to file"? make sure the correct printer is selected.
