Well of coarse smokers pay extra taxes, that's the goverment for you. But how fair would it be if a smoker was a vegetarian and had to be taxed on both? Talk about getting screwed from both ends!!!!

Rather silly I think What about sportsmen/women with their injuries, elderly people with their complaints,, Do they all have to pay for treatment? The tax on cigarettes is not specifically a health tax... It began life as an excise duty the same as on alcohol. It is part of the general tax kitty, not ringfenced for any particular purpose.

What? thats the stupidest question iv ever seen. EVERYONE eats vegetables, everyone, even if they dont know it and so they should they are healthy for us!!
So no why the hell would we want to discourage people from eating them through taxation?
Maby we could just tax vegetarians because they eat ONLY veg and the like because they are weak and always get colds and have iron deficiencies :) Only joking!

Why don't you actually research the topic and stop talking out of your anus?
Despite the attempts of the agricultural industry to push meat inclusive diets as the healthiest, independent research shows that vegetarians live longer, healthier lives than their carnivorous counterparts.

yeah - free cigarettes and alcohol and make everyone eat free fatty meat - that'll save the NHS!!!
While you're at it, why not make binge drinking compulsory for everyone over 16 and ban exercise. Perhaps a free car for everyone, a ban on wind farms and alternate energy and anything organic to be illegal.
That way there would be no one left and the NHS wouldn't have to worry about money.

no....i think taxes should be raised on things like cigarette's and alcohol we don't have to have them we have to have food even though some people would buy those two things before they buy food....diesel?....omg like we don't pay enough taxes on fuel and gas already!!! maybe u should look at the gas pump next time your getting gas or fuel and see how much goes to taxes...bet u would change your mind Leigha

Vegetarians don't get ill from what they eat, they get ill from what they don't eat, if they don't know how to get iron and other nutrients from veggie food.
You can't tax someone on something they DONT consume.
Anyway. Then you'd have to tax meat eater for all the clogging of arteries and other problems caused from their poor diet too.

You're boring me now. The first couple of questions were mildly amusing, now you're just a means of gaining two points a time.
