I am not sure where these powers rate your eyes as far as your vision goes but there are definitley higher powers out there available. For example http://www.contactlensking.com offers contact lenses with powers ranging all the way up to -12.00, but there are specialty lenses out there that can go as high as -20.00. I am not sure if this helps answer your question as far as comparing the powers of your contact lenses for your prescription, but to truly get a good idea of how good your eyesight is you should go see your eye care provder.

To answer your second question about natural ways to improve your eyes and eyesight. There is specific foods that contian the nutrients that benefit the eyes. And there are other methods to correct your eyesight. These methods are not natural but I have heard they work. There are "corrective lenses" that help to reshape your eyes to improve your vision. I guess a bad analogy would be to compare them to braces for teeth in order to reposition them. But I would definitley consult with your eye care provider before making any changes. There are also a number of other methods that can be used such as Lasik Eye Surgery and PRK – Photorefractive Keratectomy. You can find more information on these surgeries and corrective lenses by following this link.

Now if you would like to enhance your natural eye color or change them completely you can visit these links and use their interactive eye color tool to get an idea how the lenses would effect your eyes.

That is not at all bad. I myself am -6 in both eyes. And know of people who are -13. So count yourself lucky. The only thing I can say, is that it can still get worse. I don't know how old you are, but if you are still growing, then it is probable that your eyesight will continue to deteriorate. There is no way to make them better, but there are certain things you can do in order to make sure they don't get too much worse: - Keep your book at a distance when reading. It has to be on the verge of uncomfortable -When working on the computer, keep the screen an arms length away. -If you are doing some sort of work that involves looking at something close to you for extended periods of time, eg, working on the computer. Take a minute break about every quarter of an hour and look far into the distance. Focussing on something far away. Other than this, there is really nothing I can suggest. If your eyes have finished growing, and you have enough money, then laser surgery is always an option. Though to be honest, I don't think such measures are really necessary with your eyesight. If it is the appearance of the glasses you don't like, then get contacts. No one will be able to tell, and once you get used to them, they take just seconds to put in/take out. And lastly, I would say that with your eyesight, you can afford to not be wearing glasses all the time. Just wear them when you feel it's necessary. But don't let your eyesight cause you pain.

Yes that is pretty bad. And no that is NOT legally blind unless you can Not be corrected to at least 20/40 in one eye. I don't think any thing but contacts, glasses or LASIK will help your eye sight. Good luck.

My prescription is pretty strong and the first thing I do when I wake up is reach for my glasses on the night stand next to my bed. I never do anything else first.
