If you walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you'll see lots of fans maintaining their favorite celebrity's star. At Stonehenge, there are Druid worshippers. In every yard in every subdivision across America, there are homeowners meticulously tweaking the landscaping around their phone, cable TV and electric boxes. What's the dealio. Why do you do it! Have the utility companies every complained?

Many neighborhoods REQUIRE the home owners to screen their utility boxes from view of the street with vegetation. I know the homeowners association in my neighborhood does. I can get fined if it is not screened from view by vegetation.

I think it is because homeowners DO NOT like the looks of utility boxes and therefore cover them and surround them with bushes, landscaping etc - to hide their ugly appearance

I don't have any I'm running all solar but i think people should plant some kind of thorn bushes around there meters just in case they come out to shut them off for non payment lol . Why make it easy for them ?

Huh? I always landscaped around everything in my backyard just to make it visually more appealing, not to "worship" any of the utility boxes.
