You're going to hear this a lot: It's best to take him to a veterinarian to have him checked over. If he's had diarrhea for a couple of days, he could be dehydrated. Plus, the vet has way better (more effective) meds than Tums anyway.

NO - never give a dog human medicine unless directed by your vet. Tums is for acid problems, which isn't what's upsetting your dog.
Until you can get your dog to the vet, you should cook some plain white rice, possibly put a tiny bit of lean ground beef in it. It's very easy on dogs tummys so at least he'll be getting some nutrition.
Don't let him get dehydrated, take him to the vet asap.

first, you should call the vet and make an appt. You can give dogs pepto bosmal, but you will need to ask the vet for the right dosage, they can tell you this over the phone. When my doggies tummies are upset I feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for a few days. Usually they are feeling better in no time. BUT like the others stated, it could be something more serious and you really do need to take him into the vets.

no it isn't and honestly you should take him to the vets to see what is causing the problem.
Dogs can dehydrate quickly.
I never let my dogs go more than 2 days with that kind of problem.
