A toilet was made with a seat so it should therefore be always left down. It looks much better when you walk into a bathroom and see a seat down. Men should get their acts together and respect women in the bathrooms

I always put the toilet seat and lid down; but, I was raised by my grandmother and mother. So.. that is just what I am use to. However, I do believe in what Tim Allen once said, "If I can put it up... you can put it down!"

Women should just SHUT UP and put the seat down. This complaint is just too annoying for words.
First... Not ALL men do this.
Second... Be a grown up. It's about time women stopped expecting every man to kiss their asss.
It's a toilet seat! LOOK before you sit down.
As to what it looks like... What kind of fool is spending a lot of time LOOKING around a bathroom?

I'd MUCH rather have to put the seat down than sit down on a wet seat.

If your complaint is that the toilet "looks better" when the seat is down, then how do you turn this into disrespect for women?

If it's a matter of disrespect for women, your real concern must be that you don't want to have to put the seat down to use the toilet. Well, why don't you respect men, and put the seat up for us?

If women expect the seat to be down, then they will often be unpleasantly surprised. If, on the other hand, they expect it to be up then they will only be pleasantly surprised.

Men are perfectly comfortable with determining the state of the toilet seat and changing it to suite what they need, are women to lazy to do the same?

it particularly is an hassle-free 2-state device. it particularly is up or it particularly is down. If a bloke lifts the seat to steer away from splashing it whilst urinating, i think of this is in all danger an outstanding ingredient. it does now not be valuable to take a seat in somebody else's urine splashes. If a bloke desires to apply the rest room and unearths the seat in a position that does now not wholesome his meant objective, he adjustments it. Are women announcing they're incapable of a similar commentary, judgement and action? i does now not insult women with the help of suggesting they can't decrease a bathroom seat. A bloke has already performed them the courtesy of now not p***ing on it. i think we could set up a protocol for lavatory seats in accordance with our assessment of the statistical possibility of the subsequent person of the rest room requiring the seat interior the up or down place. on the different hand, because of the fact it particularly is an hassle-free 2 state device, all and sundry functional to apply it unaided ought to be ready to replacing that state to wholesome their meant objective.

Yeah but women should respect men too and let them be able to stand up when they pee. Also I've had female roommates that were equally disgusting. This one girl would never flush! How gross is that?!? Every time I walked in there I'd get a nice scene of terds and tampons floating in the bowl. BARF!

The seat is always up, because we lift it up so we don't pee on it. The hole is much bigger when the seat is up, therefore bigger target, and then we just forget to put it back down. So on behalf of all men, I would like to apologies for any inconvenience we have caused you.

this is something that's always puzzled me about women why we get so upset over this issue. Who made the rule that men should put the toilet seat down and if they don't they aren't "respecting" women. That's so stupid. Who's to say we shouldn't have to put it up for men, and by us putting it down, we aren't respecting men? And for those who say well I don't want to sit down in water, then I say, look at the seat BEFORE you sit down, and you wouldn't ever sit in the water. Everyone just needs to take responsibility for their own toilet seat, if it's up and you need it down, put it down. If it's down and you need it up, put it up. No big deal. Getting mad or saying men disrespect you by not putting it back down is just silly. Can't you put it down yourself? I have never understood this.

it's a mystery!!! lol

I actually find most 'men' put the seat and lid down... it's the 'boys' who leave it up!

And yes it does look cleaner, neater and tidier to see a bathroom with its toilet seat down... but then again I don't want to clean a loo after the men have tried to be considerate by leaving it down and miss-aiming through a smaller target either!

proverbial rock n hard place???

If that is the way that you feel about it, then why don't you go all the way and put the lid down too? Hypocritical?

Why are women so freakin' lazy that they cannot put the seat down for themselves, if you are so neurotic that it bothers you that much?
