There are so many ways, helping others, looking for the good in every situation, meditation, talking to God as though He is your very best friend and for the most part ditch prayers already written by others but ones that come from your heart as you pour it out without shame, look around at nature, even a leaf shows you God's perfection and power, this sounds silly, but hug a tree you will feel it's spirit, and its all positive. There's more, but you got the idea. You had it when you asked your question. Keep looking. If you want a copy of the meditation I use email me.

Well, I'm an atheist and Pagan, so apparently by eating babies and defacing the Bible. According to the fundies.

Otherwise, I nurture my emotions and consciousness with music, books, camaraderie with friends, kayaking through the estuary/canals, and jogging. (The last two are for catharsis after a long day.)

Set your mind on it.
Romans 8:5 "For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

Lots of different ways, but the best is quiet time, taking a whole hour just to be still and to be with God. No "talking" but just being there with Him.

Read something wonderful, or watch a great movie. And if that doesn't work, write an email or phone my best friend, and whine to him.
