Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing that He who has begun in you a good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus

Please take the time to share how this verse ministers to your heart now or in the past. How the assurance of what the Lord has given us brings you out and through some tough times of doubt or struggle that a situation will never change or you'll never overcome a personal mountain.

Ty for taking the time again to give of yourself in this way for the benefit of your brothers and sisters in Christ..

" The body builds itself up in Love"

It speaks encouragement and hope to me--that God's saving power will keep me secure in Him until the Lord's return. I may fail my Saviour many times, but He will never fail me.

"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed,
because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul,
therefore I hope in Him."

Paradise is a Persian word meaning a garden. It is not found in the O.T. In the N.T. it occurs in Luke 23: 43, 2 Cor. 12: 4, and Rev. 2: 7. (LDS scriptures - See also 2 Ne. 9: 13; Alma 40: 12, 14; 4 Ne. 1: 14; Moro. 10: 34; D&C 77: 2, 5; cf. A of F 10.) Paradise is that part of the spirit world in which the righteous spirits who have departed from this life await the resurrection of the body. It is a condition of happiness and peace and learning. Sometimes in scripture, 'paradise' is used as an adjective, describing the glorified millennial state of the earth or the spirit world. Heaven is clearly not paradise, which is the temporary place for the faithful spirits of those who have lived and died on this earth. Jesus visited paradise after his death on the cross, but on the third day, he informed Mary that he had not yet been to the Father (Luke 23: 39-44; John 20: 17; D&C 138: 11-37). The term heaven has two basic meanings in the scriptures.1 It is the place where God lives and the future home of the Saints (Gen. 28: 12; Ps. 11: 4; Matt. 6: 9).2 It is the expanse around the earth (Gen. 1: 1, 17; Ex. 24: 10). I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, Ps. 8: 3. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, Ps. 33: 6. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer! Isa. 14: 12 (2 Ne. 24: 12). The heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll, Isa. 34: 4. I create new heavens and a new earth, Isa. 65: 17. God will open the windows of heaven, Mal. 3: 10. Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, Matt. 6: 9 (3 Ne. 13: 9). Paul was caught up to the third heaven, 2 Cor. 12: 2. There was silence in heaven, Rev. 8: 1 (D&C 88: 95-98). If they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, Mosiah 2: 41. Ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, 3 Ne. 12: 45. I shall come in the clouds of heaven, D&C 45: 16. Elijah was taken to heaven without tasting death, D&C 110: 13. The rights of the priesthood are connected with the powers of heaven, D&C 121: 36. There are two kinds of beings in heaven, D&C 129: 1. Zion was taken up into heaven, Moses 7: 23.

Yes Sandy...

Foremost, the work of salvation. I understand "we are saved by grace," yet are to "work out our salvation with fear in trembling."

In this we find that God plants beautiful promises within our soul, passionate dreams, and directive visions.

In that salvation has the clear meaning of being of sound mind, happy, and safe. This helps us in times of trial and tribulation, through sickness and sadness.

In that serving Christ is purpose driven and His desire is to give us life with abundance, to walk and fulfill ministry and life beyond what we could think or achieve apart from the work of the Holy Spirit. Do not give up. We do have an adversary and the intent of this world is hostile towards the gospel. Yet, we are to be loving and caring, all the while, battling the flesh.

In that we carry redemption, our mode is still that of a fallen state.

So then, "be confident warrior and place trust in those moments that the Holy Spirit whispers His truth in your ears."

for me it speaks several things. On a personal level it tells me when I am overcome with struggles or heartaches that nothing is impossible for God. It tells me when doctors, medicine or man cannot fix or help, that God can surpass these things. I also see this verse as Grace and know that I do not have to depend on my failures or success to be rewarded with the love of God

God will never stop working in our lives! He promises what He has started He is faithful to finish! That He would even leave the 99 to go after us. He says He will not lose even one of us out of His hand! Yes Jesus Loves Me!

I know I am rotten. I can't help it. As Paul wrote the things I want to do i don't do, but the things I don't want to do I do. Thats me to a tee. But I know step by step, my Lord will lead me, and one day, maybe just one day, I will not be so rotten.

well, first it reminds us that Christians as we are, we're still imperfect beings living in an imperfect world. we live by God's Grace day after day until that day when Christ will come back again to bring everything to completion.

It means that God is the potter and we are the clay. That God will keep working on me, he will keep showing me things and revealing things to me as I am ready to receive them. Some lessons are painful but I know that God is allowing the trials in my life to conform me to the image of Christ (or as close to it as he can.) I know that no matter what happens to me today God is allowing it in order to grow me up as a Christian.

To me.....it means that I am a work in progress.....yet to be completed. Someday soon, I will put on an incorruptable body. One without sin....or pain.....or noisy bones.....or gas (my wife can vouch for this......) One that will never decay.

Praise God
