Does Theology add anything to modern society or is it just a mickey mouse subject?

I think it adds to society, in the same way philosophy does. Thinking critically about the basis of any ideas, religious or secular adds to society.

Yes, theology does add to modern society, in the same way that anything else does. Theology causes people to think about life and the consequences of wrong and right decisions. Without theology, the world would be a different, not better place.
