vet is good. If you can't get it to the vet you will have to push the hook through until it comes back out the skin. After the barb comes out, cut the hook behind the barb and you can pull the hook back out. It is what they do to humans that get the same thing. By the way the dog might try to bite you so watch out

I'd take King to the vets first and foremost.
That said, removing a fish hook from your dog's paw is a lot like removing a fish hook from a toddler's hand.
You'll need a helper (or 2), wire cutters, antiseptic - alcohol based - soap/water bandages.
Have the helper(s) hold King down on the ground with his injured paw accessible. They're going to have to hold him down hard - he's liable to squirm etc.
Take the fishhook and push it through the skin on the other end of the hook - yes - push it through the skin so there are 2 puncture marks! - You want the barb to be exposed.
Take the wire cutters and snip off the barb so the hook is now just a piece of bent wire.
Then you can pull the hook out from the "eye end"
Wash the wound with soap and water
Apply antiseptic to the wound - be generous.
Bandage the wound with clean bandages.
THEN take him to the vets.
He may need a tetanus shot (just like people) etc. etc.
Don't treat this lightly - you don't want the wound to become infected.

If you cant go to the vet or can't afford it or whatever try and push the hook through the skin if its not to deep or the dogs not into much pain if you do manage to do that cut the barb end off and pull the stick back through and keep the wound as clean as possible to stop infection

i might take King to the vets at first. That pronounced, removing a fish hook out of your canine's paw is plenty like removing a fish hook from a new child's hand. you will desire a helper (or 2), twine cutters, antiseptic - alcohol based - cleansing soap/water bandages. Have the helper(s) carry King down on the floor together with his injured paw attainable. they're going to ought to hold him down no longer undemanding - he's vulnerable to squirm etc. Take the fishhook and push it for the time of the floor on the different end of the hook - definite - push it for the time of the floor so there are 2 puncture marks! - you prefer the barb to be uncovered. Take the twine cutters and snip off the barb so the hook is now in basic terms a chew of bent twine. then you definitely can pull the hook out from the "eye end" Wash the wound with cleansing soap and water persist with antiseptic to the wound - be beneficiant. Bandage the wound with clean bandages. THEN take him to the vets. He would desire a tetanus shot (in basic terms like human beings) etc. etc. do no longer handle this gently - you do no longer prefer the wound to enhance into contaminated.

If it is has went all the way through. Get some wire cutters and cut the eye end off so when you pull it through it want hurt further. If you try to pull it back through the same way it went in the barb will hurt him tremendously so don't try that.

Your going to have to push it through to expose the barb, but the barb end off, then pull the hook out. Vet will have to do the same. Poor pooch!
Give him a treat when you get it out.

You should definetly take him into the vets to have them remove it. They can numb the area and get it out. Infection will set in quickly if you dont have it taken out asap!

Take the dog to a vet. If you attempt to take it out, you will do more damage than good.
