I like to discuss things here, but there are alot of rude people who only attack my spelling and grammar. No, english is not my native language. People acting like this really pisses me off.

Yes, I will have to say that "conversations" was a bad choice of word. But I think you all know what I mean.

Your spelling and grammar are very good indeed. People who attack you on this ground are just empty, shallow, and evidently they have nothing else to contribute but their aggressiveness and own indeficiency.

The best advice that I can give you is to simply give the thumbs down to people who behave in such a manner... that way their replies close up so you can't see them ... AND then .. just *converse* with those who have shown you respect.....

I have corrected SOME people's spelling and grammar BUT usually they are people who do have English as a first language and their mistake is ( umm how do i say this .. ???) very silly.... BUT generally if you spend the time picking on a person's spelling .. you are not spending enough time on what it is they are actually trying to say.

:) Ignore the annoying people.

EDIT: AND as THING wrote .. Yahoo Groups are a great way to have those conversations .... Let me know if you're interested.

( Good Plug Thing :) )

YA It can be a problem, I find it hard to find a question worth answering. As far as rude people go, they are mostly just going for points, and don't really have anything good to say anyway. It helps if you have a 360 page and allow people to say more than just quick answers to questions.
keep trying, I've actually meet some interesting people on here, as well as some jerks too.

That's unfortunate to hear. Your spelling and grammar look ok from what I'm reading here. I just give you a pat on the back for making an effort to even try. Keep up the good work!

This forum isn't the ideal spot for having conversations and meeting people, because it is set up for questions and answers, not conversation.

If you'd like to meet people in a different sort of setting, why not try Yahoo Groups? I belong to one in which we discuss and debate issues ranging from the meaning of life through to Britney's issues, lol ... anything and everything. It's also a multicultural group, we have members from all around the world.

There are many people who just like to meet others and talk, but Yahoo Answers isn't ideal ... and unfortuantely, it has attracted some rude people who love to harrass others.

Cheers :-)

Sophia, hey , listen to what others have said. Its the small .nothing going for them, hiding behind a computer screen , "chumps"!!!! Yea, there are a lot of rude people but there is also a lot of good ,honestpeople on here too. I have contacts from the seniors to the rappers and all in between. And none of care if the other uses slang or misspells something and we DO DISCUSS THINGS ,SUBJECTS,EVEN RECIPES AND HOW TO ASK SOMEONE OUT ON A DATE( mostly my younger contacts still in school on the dating game. You can add me as a contact if ya like. all my contacts are "GOOD PEOPLE" and we like discussin' everything like I said. Itas not so good to have all your xcontacts ,answers and questions marked as private though cause no one can include you in their circle and can't see what you've asked or answered

It is a shame that people have to behave in such a manner. I wonder how many of the people who attack your spelling and grammar are, in reality, betraying their insecurities about their own ability to read and write proper English.

I thought this was a place to ask a question and receive answers, not to have conversations.

Oh well, thanks for the two points, and your spelling and grammar are fine. Better than most native English speakers actually.

You're not supposed to have conversations here. If you want chit chat go to chat rooms or groups.
Just ignore the people who critique spelling, etc. They do this because they don't have anything REAL to say in reply and it's an easy 2 points.

I am not one of those people, and, I hate it when someone corrects me in anyway. Whats the point? So, dont let people who correct you bother you, thats just the way the world is. just continue doing your own thing.
