I really want to graduate and go to college, get married and have kids and have a normal life as an adult. I tried mundanely to get good grades, but it wasnt enough.

Is it a good idea to use magick as a last resort?

1. Good grades are the result of hard work and study. You can use magic all you want, but it won't change a thing if you don't study.

2. You want to be "normal" AND use magic?

3. "WITCHES ONLY" just makes me want to answer your silly question.

The methods you dismiss as "mundane" are the core of magickally empowered action. You should use magick to empower yourself to have the willpower and self-confidence to make concrete, empirically verifiable changes in your world. Of course you can do well in college. You are already using magick--of the negative, destructive kind--to hex yourself into believing that you are unable to do well in school. Try using magickal work to transform your belief that you cannot do well. Then use common-sense, creative solutions that work in the real world to bring about the changes you need.

You must understand that it's all up to you.

First, if you're not willing to help yourself, magic will not help. If you can't put in the time and effort to get the good grades, good grades will not come from using magic. Getting married and having kids will not come from magic alone. A normal life will not come from using magic alone. If you are just "mundanely" trying to achieve these things, then who's to say your magic use wouldn't be just as mundane. Magic is a tool that can help us achieve those things we want, it is not going to give us everything just because we throw a spell. I wouldn't use magic as a last resort for anything. If I have done my best to achieve what I want, possibly using a spell or two for clarification and focus, and I still don't have the answer or result I want, I take another look and what it is I'm trying to do, and sometimes it turns out that it's just not time for that to happen in my life. As others have stated here, there is a law of magic, that which you do comes back three fold. I have had experiences that proved to me the validity of this statement. And the bad does come back to ya. You sound to me to be young, unpracticed, and unschooled in magic. Please find a coven in your area. Hopefully the people there can help you find the balance you need in your life to become the successful person you want to be. Having rambled on about all that. No it is never a good idea to use magic as a last resort. And yes, I am a practicing witch, as were my grandmothers before me.

I would say its best used as a last resort. More mundane methods often produce quicker and easier results. However, when no mundane method is available or effective, then you come to a point where your only choice is magick or nothing. A certain level of desperation may help you focus your will better, too.

However, I would advise caution in exactly what you are trying to achieve. Its been my experience that if you let negativity or greed creep into your desires, you may have a nasty and unexpected backlash of some sort. It seems that you will often get what you asked for, but not in a form that you wanted it in.

In the case of the things you stated, I doubt magick would be a good solution, however. Those are all things that people can and do accomplish all the time on their own. Try reading up a little on strategies for studying more effectively.

Depending on magick for this kind of thing will probably not produce good results. That would be my personal opinion.

I am not reading the wall of text. Simply put, no one is a witch just because a relative is a witch. We have no special powers that are only available to certain people. It's a choice to tap into witchcraft and anyone at any time can do it if they take the time to learn about it.

If you have tried every other avenue then use magick. Now I use magick not only as a last resort but to aid my non magickal endeavors as well.

Go for it, what can it hurt?

First let me say I agree completely with the "happiness" spell. And second "last resort"? Hon, in one way or another I use it every day! But then after having done this for 40+ years it is pretty much second nature, and in time you will realize it too. When you were a Christian, did you pray every day? Not much difference. Communicating with a Goddess or God is always a good idea. But get on to the "happiness" spell. If you cast spells on yourself they tend to be more effective because you are allowing yourself to concentrate on the out comes. As always, VISUALIZE the out come and you can make it happen. Let things happen in due course, don't force them, that will only lead to disappointment.

I practiced wicca about 15 years ago; during that time, I did not use spells for personal gain but mainly to create a stable home atmosphere and increase well being of myself and my then-boyfriend (now husband). By using magick to strengthen yourself in this manner, it becomes more like a meditation, a linking of yourself to the greater universe. You have to be at peace and not desperate, as it seems you are, in order to know the way that you must follow. Use your usual magick to calm yourself and see the right path. There is no need for "last resorts." This is an illusion born of your desperation. If you are in a community of witches, it is possible even that it is a spell cast to make you feel this way. (I experienced this myself and in my own practice, I understood ill-intentioned magick to be a tenfold rebound.) By focusing on the wrongness of the spell and burning protective candles and using other protective measures that worked in my own mind, I was confident that the spell would rebound upon the head of the caster. And so it did, by her own hands--it is like serendipity where you can see some of the threads--unforgettable state of mind. So, to answer your question, look at your situation. There is no need for last ditch magic, just regroup and protect yourself and use ritual and meditation to calm your mind so your path is clear.

Sorry honey, but you simply don't have the authority to tell everyone else to 'go away'. Thank God for that. Guess that means I'm not a witch. Life unfolds before you, and you can't make it happen right now. You just need to be patient, and let life take it's course. Have a little more confidence in yourself, and the natural abilities you have. One thing you need to understand though, is; it is not good to use magic at all. It in itself, is a guarantee of a confused and hapless life, which I'm sure you do not plan on having.

Sorry friend, this has nothing to do with your question, just wanted to make sure you knew that here at R&S when you put ONLY FOR, or GO AWAY and all that, you are pretty much guaranteed to get a bunch of every one you do not want. That is, of course if you did not already figure that out by getting all the ones you did not want. Which probably includes me, so I should be going now, bye bye

depends what that last resort is, if it is harmful against someone, or it would hold them against there will or how they were originally gonna live, then no. But if it is for a personal use, and does not affect anyone else beside you, then yes, as a last resort of course.
