I have to write this article for religion class (Catholic School), and I have done all the research, and I have so much that I can write, but I am having a hard time starting it and getting the first few lines out. Can anyone help me?

Can't help you there since I'm from the other school on that subject. You learn what you want from experience. Being a virgin until you're married is like buying a house without ever seeing it.

I'm an atheist.I don't believe it is a "sin" at all.I'm not even saying it is "better" to wait.I only have one angle to defend it.IF,later down the line, you do get married, and the husband/wife discovers he/she lives next door to the person their husband/wife used to do their rabbit imitation with,it could cause some insecurity.I've been married 22 years, completely faithful, but the first few years,my wife was insecure as I had a "reputation"as a "skirt chaser".Her fears proved unfounded. But,they did exist.Personally,I think the guilt mongers put WAY too much emphasis on something that is wonderful. As long as you are aware of the risk of std's and use protection,go for it.The scenario I presented is the only downside I can envision

It might be good for the priest and elders or others maybe even your parents to know that you are a virgin when you marry but you will be lacking in the experience that you need to keep your man from straying to others. He will go for the professional whether he says he wants a virgin or not. The clumsy male needs a wife that knows how to please his needs so being a virgin in a sense could be a curse. The big thing is most do it and say they don't if their religion tells them that it is not allowed. It should be yours to choose and should never be a public issue. It should have never been a controlling force to keep woman in their place but it has and will continue to be as long as religion dictates how we are to be in our personal lives.

To avoid you getting pregnant by someone else first and having a kid that is actually someone else's progeny other than the one you're married to.
That and that you're prone to get more attached to the first person you're with supposedly because they introduced you to it, and you will compare all others to them.... which could make things awkward if / when you get married.

I believe THAT is the reasoning behind it, but it is flaky at best. It comes from a time when contraception wasn't an option.

It would be good to start with bible verses. Look in Genesis about the creation of Eve, how God made her to become one flesh with Adam. This is the establishment of marriage and only through marriage is true love expressed.

Fornication (a carnal union between an unmarried man and woman) is gravely contrary to human sexuality which exists for the good of spouses and procreation of children. A grave scandal exists when the young are corrupted in this matter.

For more information about this subject please go to this link and look for paragraph 2351 and following.

Because the sky daddy will burn you if your hymen is broken before you have a ring.

Other than that, there's absolutely no reason. Best to do what thou wilt. Just wear protection.

There is no logical answer--although there will be judgemental bigoted righteous folk who would preach that you should save "Gods Gift" for the wedding bed--although you can bet bags to beans they have themselves "sinned" in that area--:]
