First, try swallowing or yawning. Well, OK, I'll assume you've at least swallowed in the past day but you still might try yawning. If that doesn't work, there is a technique that the military (and most pilots, I think) use called valsalva. You simply pinch your nose closed with one hand, close your lips tightly, and try to gently blow air our of your mouth (keep them pursed tight). You should feel your eardrums pop.

Sometimes, I find it helpful to turn my head away from a side that is more troublesome. This stretches my neck on that side and seems to help me though I haven't seen any official mention of doing this.

You shouldn't have to push REALLY hard with the air in your mouth to get this to work, so DON'T! If you do this too forcefully, you can injure your ears. If your ears remain plugged after trying this gently, then seek a medical professional.

By the way, some people find chewing gum on an airplane helps prevent the problem your having. I don't know if doing so now would also help.

Both answers give good ideas however, if your ear pressure still did not equalize I would head straight for a doctors office. Even if you did nothing to help relieve the pressure after that much time it should have happened on its own already. Seriously, you do need a doc to look at you. Do not risk inner ear damage, you must have some type of blockage.
Good Luck!

In the past, I've had to work in a plane being pressurized on the ground, and the following method is what I used:
Pinch and hold nose (nostrils) closed.
Hold mouth open.
GENTLY blow through your nose, very slowly increasing pressure of blowing until ear drums pop.

Not much you can do after you've tried the above techniques. Sounds like you flew with a cold huh? You might try an antihistamine. Might clear things up. But you'll be taking a nap for awhile. Sleep well.

If you have tried out all the good and effective advices given above and still dont feel right, then I feel you have an ear infection which needs to be looked into.

hold your nose and mouth and blow hard until they pop. Alos, try chewing gum. Or maybe just moving your jaw around with your hand.
