Im finding a perennial plant which is easy to maintain because I live in zone 8 and a kind of plant that has flowers and grows really short. I think Vinca Minor is a candidate.

Where I live it's classified as a weed
it's more a self-seeding annual than a perennial.
With each seeding the flowers are smaller and the entire plant reverts back to the origin of the species i.e the hybrid
you originally planted with the gorgeous flowers is now everywhere sporting the common pink weedy flowers!

yes and occurs in varigated leaves and various flowe colors
